A weird little poem-thing for MCSMFanClub's poetry contest
This is unfortunately very short; it turns out that I absolutely suck at poetry and making things rhyme haha
I know I probably didn't need to make it rhyme, but I wanted to try it and am absolutely wishing I hadn't
And I was originally going to write about Petra or Aiden, but then decided to point the spotlight at a more underrated character instead.
Don't you dare ask me who this is about, it's obvious as hell lol

A monarch by necessity, if never by choice
Flowing gold robes and commanding voice
Feathers and stone, the illustrious queen
Sovereign of a land that's never been seen
Builder of towers in iron and gold
Don't believe all the rumors you may have been told
A leader of naught but clouds and fear
The weight of the world thrown high in the air
Undermination; she holds on too tight
Trying so hard to do what is right
It was never her fault things had to be this way
For the good of the people; they had no choice but to stay
Misplacing trust in liars and thieves
For all the damage, she can't stop to grieve
Overthrown royal, too far to fall
Unsure who to blame, lest she lose it all
Mistakes and deceit follow her to the ground
Where secrets infinite are yet to be found
Discoveries that would all be otherwise grand
There's no time left to explore the new land
A climb through the sky, it's never enough
Regal, yes, but she knows when to be tough
Double-handed swords and a battle to be won
She'll never be seen as a leader who runs
Fire and monsters, all in the way
Bravery and nerves never starting to fray
To freedom below, she'll take the lead
Her home all in ruins, an escape is decreed
A plunge through the sky for the finishing time
She'll do her best to bring forth all her reason and rhyme
A leadership bargain for this new second chance
Sharing power, it seems, is an unfamiliar dance
Her burdens lifted, she's not sure who to be
Relax, sky queen; you're finally free.
