Xenia Pov

I felt someone begging me to wake up. Who? I couldn’t make out, but they were begging me. I couldn’t bring myself to wakeup up. My wolf was begging me! But soon she was angry and ordering me.

 “Dammit Xenia Don’t you give up on us! We have to pull through” She huffed.

“I WON’T LEAVE MY MATE SO YOU BETTER PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER!” She was shouting at me.

The bitch has really a strong pair of lungs to shout like that.

Soon after her rant she went back to begging me. “Please, please Xenia pull through for us, if not for us then do it for your mate, just open your eyes and have a peek at him, just see what he is going through. Or if that is too much open your senses and feel his pain for us” she pleaded with me.

I tried real hard to open my eyes yet I couldn’t so I did what my wolf forced me to do… Feel him!

I gasped internally because it all came crashing down on me the moment I allowed myself to feel our matelink… I felt all his emotions all his inner turmoil. I felt everything every emotion, every guilt every hurt, every loss.

He couldn’t feel me but I felt him. I guess my connection to him isn’t as broken as his is to me.

Xyon Pov

I removed myself from her making sure not violate her by looking at her naked body. I grabbed a bed sheet and wrapped her in it and went to look for something to wear myself after finding a pair of sweatpants I wore them and went back to sit beside her.

Mary’s wounds had all closed up and she wasn’t bleeding anymore which is a miracle by itself but if she would just wake up and let me relax a bit. My wolf was being strangely very quiet and even when I tried to talk to him he just shut me out, but why do I feel the bastard is hiding something from me. He is almost acting guiltily! I let out a frustrated sigh “please Mary wake up” I begged. I don’t know how long I was besides her begging her when sleep took over me.

Xenia Pov

I opened my eyes with difficulty especially since the lights were really too strong for my sensitive eyes. I groaned and immediately Xyon raised his head from beside me all sleep gone from his eyes “Mary” he spoke breathlessly. “You really gave me a scare, how do you feel” he asked me. I tried to speak but no words came out my throat was very dry and I started coughing. He gave me a glass of water “here drink this” he said while helping me with it. I took a sip but he kept it to my lips and coaxed me into drinking it all.

“Can you please just tell me what happened to you? Who attacked you Mary?” He said painfully. I just kept looking at him without speaking for I had no idea what to say. I can’t tell him the truth but what lie could suffice right now at this moment?

I gathered as much strength to say something, “I really don’t know what happened and please I don’t want to think about it” I answered while pleading with my eyes for him to drop the topic.

He was silent for a moment and I deep thought when he took a breath “okay fine you win but, only for a while after you have gained your strength and rested we will pick up this conversation where we left off” he declared firmly while looking deep into my eyes. I nodded my acceptance to him.

“So since you don’t want to talk about that let’s talk about the fact that all my warriors have met you and now we have no way of keeping you hidden, I wanted to say something but he held his hand stopping me from continuing “ which I am glad about for now you don’t have to be afraid of being caught inappropriately…” he said teasingly making me gasp as an image of me naked in his bathtub flashed through his mind and unfortunately I could see it vividly!

My wolf purred which is not good because Xyon tensed…

He looked at me deeply “who are you?” He whispered softly… My breath got stuck in my throat, I couldn’t say it I just couldn’t risk it not now not when I myself don’t know what’s going on. I just kept staring at his eyes, blue fire clashing and begging my green stormy eyes to give up all my secrets… and I wanted to give in but I couldn’t! I looked away with a single tear betraying me “please don’t ask me things I myself haven’t figured out yet” I said helplessly.

“You know you can trust me right” he asked hopefully.

“Not now Xyon but soon hopefully soon I will be able to…” I said with teary eyes.

Xyon Pov

I couldn’t stay with her any longer because if I stayed any longer I was dead sure I was going to do something stupid. I stood up and left Mary at the hands of my pack doctor who I am sure had million of questions that I couldn’t answer right now.

“How is it even possible, she was almost dead” the doctor asked shocked when he entered and found Mary completely well and sitting on the bed but looking tired as hell.

“Doc don’t ask me, you are the doctor, so I am guessing you have some tests to do and some answers to give me as soon as I come back?” I told him stiffly not allowing any further discussion about her miracle healing.

I went to see Mrs. Forrester; she has to be told about her granddaughter’s condition. The moment I entered her room the first thing that caught my attention was the lack of scent of an older woman! And the strangest thing was that the only and only one single scent present was Mary’s!

I looked around opened the closet, and checked the clothes where I found Mrs. Forrester’s cloak which was filled with Mary’s scent!!!

I SAW RED

My own beta lied to me!

I was furious

I felt betrayed

We felt betrayed; it’s been real long since I and my wolf have agreed on anything but right now…

My wolf took over and all we wanted was blood Jeffery’s blood!

I left and went to find Jeffery he alone can answer me why he betrayed me. He had tricked me into something I didn’t know, but one thing I am sure of is that Jeffry is going to be in a lot of trouble for lying to me! Some things can be forgiven but lying, betrayal and breaking a sacred pack rule are three strikes which can never be forgiven! Beta or not he was going to pay with his life…
