“Okay, but still how is she alive then? I mean if she should have died how did you save her? I asked desperately wanting to know the truth.

 

“I marked her”.

 

“Excuse me?” I asked shocked, he just smirked and started running back towards the pack house.

“And where do you think you are going?” I asked while knowing very well he wanted to be near his mate.

“Common Xyon grow a pair, don’t you think it’s time we claimed what’s rightfully ours?” He asked while still running in the direction of the pack house.

“I think you are forgetting some minor details, like what will happen to the pack and what about our extra powers? Are we going to lose them because we have a mate now? I asked still not sure about all that was happening at the moment.

“Xyon don’t you think the more urgent question should be is, will our mate forgive us and take us back? He asked sarcastically.

Xenia Pov

Standing in my room thinking about what might Xyon do with me? I was very confused as to what should my actions be. But I knew one thing I had to leave because mate or not I was tired of being treated anything less than a true mate and until he realizes that, I just can’t be near him it’s too painful.

I packed what little things I had and was on my way to leave, but before I left I went to his room and sat on his huge bed taking deep breaths of his mesmerizing scent. Silent tears were falling on my cheeks. I closed my eyes… just this one last time I indulged myself in his exotic scent and then I stood up making my way out of the his room and soon out of his life…

Xyon Pov

I entered the pack house and went upstairs, as soon as I entered my wing I suddenly felt a jolt of electricity go through my body, starting from my head reaching my heart and kept on going in a circle...

Then I had an out of my body experience. I was seeing things as a bystander, but what were those things was still confusing until I saw her…

Xenia

She was crying and hurting still a kid and was being forced into her transformation.

On the other hand there was I in the ritual breaking my bond with her and my wolf going crazy in my head demanding and then begging me to not go through with it, but I went through it anyways.

The moment my blood was mixed with her and the breaking ritual was completed Xenia’s wolf was born… yet due to the mate bond breakage she was so weak and wounded it literally broke my heart...

I was seeing her in front of me right now. How she was begging for help howling weakly… howling painful howls for her mate for me to come and save her, but I guess at that time I didn’t hear her because I had already broken our mate bond. My wolf on the other hand was quiet, very very quiet and I saw it unfolding in front of me…

I was sleeping not knowing what my mate was going through but my wolf was awake and gut wrenching sobs were escaping him, it was at that moment when he heard our mate howling to him to come and save her or even if only to come and see her for the first and last time for she was going to die very soon and that was her dying wish… which she hoped he wouldn’t refuse…

It was at that moment my wolf had a choice to make, and a choice he made, he sacrificed his own self just to be with her even if it meant for the last time ever. I saw the separation of my wolf from my body there was a sad look in his eyes while he turned and looked one last time at my sleeping body but then he ran to our mate…

The minute my wolf saw her weak and wounded, he went to her and started licking her but she was so far gone and so weak that it wasn’t possible to save her this way.

She snuggled deeply into him as if to tell him that it’s okay for him to let her go. She wanted us to know that she doesn’t blame us and all she wanted was to meet her mate before she died. She raised her head a bit and licked his neck softly.

“I forgive you and Xyon, but you have to go back to him” she said weakly while resting her head on his chest.

He growled “I’ll never let you go you are mine” he said while tears glistened in his eyes.

She smiled sadly “I can feel my heart’s weak beats which might stop any moment and I have accepted my fate, but now it’s time you also accepted it” she told him brokenly still snuggling deeper and deeper into him as if to savor this moment forever.

“Never, Never, Never” he growled loudly.

“You will never leave me you are mine forever to stay by my side and if you force me to live without you, I’ll simply die to join you in death if not in life” he whispered while his tears started to slip his eyes. “And that’s a promise not a statement” he added.

“No you cannot die, you have to live you are strong and our pack depends on you, they need you, Xyon needs you” she said reprimanding him softly.

My wolf looked her in her eyes “I am so sorry for what I am about to do but know this, it’s only because I love you (she looked at him confusingly while she was having a hard time breathing and she was in too much pain) but our pack need their Luna as much as their alpha” he said in a gentle voice, but then, He went for the kill, and marked her.

Surprise was written on her face as slowly ounce by ounce she was being forced to suck his life force out of him. I could see she didn’t want him to suffer but he wanted to save her by any means possible.

He had his jaw tightly shut against her neck and slowly the essence of our life was being transferred to her.

She was gaining strength while we were losing it.

She was healing while we were bleeding.

She looked healthier than ever yet we looked like the reincarnation of death.

He kept his hold on her making sure she took all the energy she needed to heal and become 100% okay, even if it meant our death because that is what mates do. We protect them from everything till our last breath…

I saw myself coughing and gasping for breath while he was white as death and all life had been sucked out of him his eyes glazed and barely alive.

Jeffery came running into my room as I was fighting my death.

She healed… He passed out… And I was barely alive…
