We rode a cab to a place Aidan said I had to see. We mostly sat in silence, each others presence being enough. The car went into a pot hole and Aidan's leg touched mine... and he didn't take it away. His touch sent shocks up my body.
Once we arrived, I gasped. We stood in Central Park, the trees and flowers a familiar sight. I looked at him with excitement and leaned in closer.
"What's your favorite color?" He said, breaking the silence.
I thought about it. "I'd say a deep green. Like a jungle."
He nodded enthusiastically. "Me too! Finally someone who likes dark green!" I laughed. "Favorite show?"
"Ooh, that's a hard one. I pass." I said, nothing coming to mind.
"I like Umbrella Academy. Do you have Netflix?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Check it out when you get home. I think you'll like it."
We stopped and sat on a bench that overlooked a small garden. The city scent was gone, replaced by the sweet smell of flowers. "Aidan, what's it like to be famous?"
He smiled. "It's incredible. It can be overwhelming sometimes, but I've yet to grow tired of it. Wanna see something?" I nodded and he pulled out his phone.
It looked pretty average to me. But when he opened Instagram, I almost screamed.
A constant barrage of notifications stunned me, and I took his phone out of his hands.

I replied, "I did." To the last one and showed him.
"It's crazy, right? I scroll through the tags and like stuff of me. I love my fans."
"I would die. How do you keep up with it?"
"I try my best. You have Instagram?"
"Yeah, my user is Cecelia_Connors. Why?"
"I have a private account." He explained. "No one knows it's me except for my friends. I'll follow you on that account so I can actually see what you post."
He switched to an account named stevenmist0967 and requested me. I smiled.
He stood up and said, "Lets continue!" I followed suit.
After walking through the park in a comfortable silence, he offered to buy me a hot pretzel. I declined, so he bought one for himself. But before he could take a bite I leaned in and took a chunk out.
He started chuckling as he said, "I thought you didn't want!"
I winked and said, "I changed my mind."
Suddenly, I heard someone scream. Two girls and a boy, presumably siblings, were pointing at Aidan and giggling. He gave me a look and walked over to them.
I followed, and listened as he said, "Guys I'm happy to do what you want- autographs, pictures- but I need a favor." They nodded. "Don't post it until I'm out of the park. If you do everyone will come and ruin my day. Deal?"
The boy said, "Of course!" Aidan smiled and signed them each two post- it's (one for their "best friend") and took a selfie.
The youngest girl came up to me and said, "Can I have yours too?"
I sputtered out a, "Sure!" Aidan laughed at me as I sighed the back of the families post-it's. They walked away content and bubbling, leaving me confused.
Aidan was still laughing, saying, "Look at you! Quite the celebrity."
I stuck out my tongue and giggled. To be honest I was a little in shock- I felt truly special. It was spectacular.
"Want to get ice cream?" I asked.
"I'm vegan." He stated factually. "But I know a great place with vegan sorbet."
"Oh ok." I said before mumbling, "Sorry..."
He rubbed my back, saying, "I literally couldn't care any less."
I looked at him to catch him looking at me and I laced my fingers through his.
The rest of the way there my head was buzzing.
The little shoppe was empty and quaint. Aidan walked to the counter and ordered us both lemon sorbet, like we discussed on the way over. I picked a booth in the back so we wouldn't be noticed.
Aidan brought over our sorbet and slid into the seat across from me. I took a spoonful of mine.
"Hey, I've got an idea." He said grinning. "Want to mess with my followers?" I nodded, confused. He pulled his phone out and grabbed my hand. I heard the click that meant he took a photo and I eyed him quizzically.
He showed me the photo. It had both our sorbets and the two of us holding hands, neither of our faces visible. He said proudly, "I'll post this later and I'll get thousand of DMs asking who you are. And I won't tell."
I blushed and looked down. Aidan reached over and touched his fingertips to my chin, lifting my head up. He smiled softly before whispering, "You have beautiful eyes."
I let out a puff of air and said, "Oh shut up! My eyes are gross."
He shook his head like I was a child who wouldn't understand. "Your eyes are a deep brown I could get lost in. And when the sun hits them all I see are two pools of honey, flecks of gold mixed in." He sighed. "They're perfect."
I felt butterflies in my stomach and I put my head in my hands to hide my grin. He's so sweet. My voice was muffled when I said, "I don't deserve you."
In a playful accent he said, "On the contrary Madame, it is I who isn't deserving of you." Then he added on normally, "And eat your sorbet before it melts."
I did as he said, the two of us just staring at each other. He says my eyes are beautiful, but his are like a dense forest, greenery abundant. I smiled and looked away.
Before I knew it I was done. The sun was setting behind the buildings and it was almost seven. Aidan had a eight-o-clock show to catch so I knew we had to part.
I began gathering my things as he did. We walked out together, and Aidan called me a cab.
"Goodbye for now, Cecelia." He said.
"Bye, Aidan."
I took a few steps until I was close enough to hear him breath. I looked up at him, stood on my toes and touched my lips to his.
We kissed briefly but magically, fireworks going off in my head. My cab arrived and I stepped away breathless. He put his hand to his ear and mouthed call me with a dazed smile.
I closed the door of the cab and told the driver the address of my hotel.
What a day.
