The girl turned and caught ja'na staring.
"What you looking at? You gotta problem?"
Ja'na rolled her eyes at the girl beside her already disliking her school ja'na was staring to dislike the kids too.
"I was look at you duh who else sitting beside me!" Ja'na replied with sass, her mother ain't raise no bitch
"Umm help me find them!"
"Find what?" Ja'na thought the girl was crazy
"The person you think you talking too!"
Ja'na laughed at the girl inside joke. So laughed so hard she had to slam her hand on the table just to be extra
"I got to say that was funny mind if I take that joke?" Ja'na ask
"Mh, I guess everybody else already stealing it, I'm Marie"
Ja'na smiled at the girl
"Now we're even" ja'na told the little girl
"What do you mean?"
"I stole your inside joke and you stole my middle name! So now were even and by the way I'm ja'na"
"Well ja'na good thing I meet you because I would have been cursing that little boy who keep tryna hug me"
And after that moment they became bestfriends

Ja'na say goodbye to your friends we got to go before we miss our flights.
"Looks like your leaving me forreal"
"Don't worry Marie I'll be back and will always be friends"
"Bestfriends!"
Hugging the only real friend she had ja'na look her bestfriend in the eye before getting in the car and heading to Kinston nc to be with her sick great grandmother who is undergoing breast cancer
Little did ja'na know she wouldn't be back in California until another year

Class we got a new student her name is ja'na williams she just got here from Kinston nc.
Ja'na wasn't paying attention she was looking for her bestfriend Marie, 2 and a half years away from her was enough.
"Umm yea I'm looking for marie you seen her"
And as the words came out Marie walked in the classroom with her twin brother kevin
"Ahhhhhh ahhhhh"
The girls jumped up and down hugging each other
"When did you get back?"
"Two days ago I missed you!"

Ja'na grabbed her bestfriend shoulders and hugged her again! But when she pulled back she saw the most cutest white boy she ever saw
He stood out to her with his grey eyes dark brown hair and tall frame
Not only that he was the only white boy with a black friend with a weird name

"Marie who's that?"
"Who's who?"
"That white boy!"
"Oh he's not in this class he got bounced for fusing with another student I think his name is Chris or sum like that I won't paying attention"
The two girls sat at there desk which was right next to each other. the two friends caught up and talked about ja'na life in Kinston nc but one thing ja'na didnt mentioned was the demons she faced and how she lost against them, and the things that broke her
Marie davis had no idea her bestfriend was broken and unable to be fix with the things she has went through

"Ja'na I be back I gotta go get my KitKat before it melt in my book bag"
"You and those damn KitKat"
Marie looked at her bestfriend like she grew two heads, ja'na has changed since the last time Marie saw her
She's curse
She dress different
She smoked
She talked to older boys
She did what she wanted
And no one could stop her.

Damn Marie be taking forever I swear!
Getting up ja'na looked out in the crowd of students that were outside
She saw her bestfriend nowhere
"Aye black girl!"
Ja'na turned around and saw girls and boys in a line
"We need one more runner you in?"
Good thing ja'na loved a good run she got in her place and waited for the whistle
"ON YOUR MARCH!"
"GOOD SET!"
"GO!"
That's all she needed to take off running ja'na was in third place she was loving the wind that blows her short hair the energy
One of the runners slowed down and ja'na took advantage of that
Quickly assign speed ja'na found herself in second place and it turned to a challenge to her
Earning first place ja'na was seconds away from the finish line before a foot stuck out she went down and rolling
She can feel the burn of her scrapped knee
"Are you ok?" A voice said
She knew who it was it was Christan James
The white boy that caught her attention three weeks ago
"Yea thanks for asking"
"You did good, you got mad skills"
"Thanks"she smiled
"Here! You need to cover that scar up"
He handed her a bandaid
"Thank you, you can go now I got my bestfriend!" Marie pushes him out the way
"Damn Marie mean much?"
"Nah that boy aint no good and I seen those eyes"
"No good?"
"Yep no good but that's not gonna stop you!"

"Wake up ja'na and when you do I'll be here waiting."
But when I woke up he wasn't
