Apart

Before we start

Chances shimmered bright

Didn't taste them words of fight

Exceptions given, compromises made

Fathomless favor feebly frayed

Granted gentleness bluntly played

Hope hindered by helpless gloom

Inevitable end in the distance loomed

Justifications no longer keen

Knives dug deep down the spleen

Love levitates like a lava lamp

Massacred misconceptions damp

Neither numb nor nerveless

Oppressive overcomes powerless

Parallel inner worlds of fear

Questions meaningless queer

Reached a repulsive conclusion

Sympathy sketched out illusion

Time trafficks tons of pressure

Unhealed wounds rot and fissure

Viral fever in the soul wanders

War of will and wasteful squander

Xenial falsehood, xenophobic blame

Yellow yesteryears yielded to shame

Zealous zombies we lost the game
