Lone Wolf & Tongueless Friend

29 9 14

For days we stray into the night
Keeping each other company
Tongueless friend who understands
How much I need a symphony

My life has been a long stand-in
Of something that might've been
Exuberant notes of a rhapsody
Yet all I get, a carved out cacophony

I have wandered inside my head
Lone wolf, under the moon I tread
As all the times I've ever tried
I've never found a better friend

You never fail to give me hope
You never fail to give me chime
For all the nights I couldn't cope
And all the days I couldn't rhyme

You have been there when I'd cried
When she'd cried in my arms and left
And you're the one who made her stay
Your strings bestowed upon us strength

With you, my friend, I exhale
Melodies I never knew I owned
The songs I had within were pale
But you're the one who got them toned

And when the walls are falling down
And when in deep abyss I drown
You lift me up and fill my cup
Soothing my soul, Dawn to sundown

For days we stray into the night
Keeping each other company
Tongueless friend who understands
How much I need a symphony
