Also side note, the writing will hopefully get better over time since this part of the story was written way way last year. I hope you're enjoying so far though.

(This is a re upload because I changed this chapter since I wasn't happy with it.)

"So, I'm guessing you have a lot of questions." You ran your fingers through your hair nervously as you sat around the dining table. Their frustrated and confused expressions gazing over you.

"A lot of questions? A lot? Of course, we've got a lot of freaking questions!" Josie snapped back. "You know what? How about you just start from the beginning. Who the hell even are you?!" Your attention turned to your father who paced back and forth talking angrily on the phone with who you presumed to be Nick Fury.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold on a minute." He muttered into the phone before turning and pointing a finger at you. "Sweetie, no." Instantly he spoke back into the phone. "Well, what the hell did you think I was going to do Fury?!" His voice trailed off into the distance as Josie grabbed your attention.

"I can't tell you much. The less you know the better."

"What the-no, you're going to tell us everything (Y/N)," Josie demanded. "I want to know who my best friend is!" You looked over your shoulder towards Tony and shrugged causing him to roll his eyes and continue his conversation.

"I'll tell you one thing only, but seriously, the more you know the more risk you're at."

"What kind of risk?" Emily asks curiously.

"Deadly kind. Because if someone bad finds out that you know who I am they could use you and people could die." The words that fell out of your mouth causes their eyes to open wide. "Look, my name isn't (Y/N) (L/N) ..."

"No shit Sherlock!"

"You wanna know or not?" Emily's comment causing you to cross your arms.

"Fine."

"My name is (Y/N) Stark and that idiot over there is my biological father. That's all I can tell you." You sighed tangling your fingers together. This felt wrong, so very wrong. You thought you would be ready for this moment, you'd even imagined it a thousand times in your head. "You'll need to sign a lot of confidentiality waivers. No one can find out who I really am...okay?"

"Yeah..." Josie's voice trailed off as silence enthralled. "Does this mean you'll be leaving us." Her eyes were glazed over, and you could see the sadness in the normally bright brown eyes.

"Yes." You sighed quietly. "I have to leave, I can't stay here any longer. I'm going home."

"But this is your home." You put a tender hand on her small shoulder.

"This is where I live, where I have my friends but it's not where my family is. Here, I can't be who I am but back there...I can be (Y/N) Stark."

"But you're you! You are (Y/N) (L/N). You're the kid that stands away from the group, you're the person who gets questions wrong on math tests. And you're wrong, this is your home. We are your family and your parents really do care about you!"

"They're not my real parents Josie!" You snap back in a sudden outburst. "They don't really care about me! They're just been paid to! And don't you dare assume that you know who I am!" Tony peered around from the other room, his tone lower. He did feel pain, pain for you. He couldn't possibly imagine how hard this would be for you.

"Oh yeah?! Then tell me this. When you get home to your mansion or tower in the sky what are you going to do? Stare out into the world you can never touch because no one can ever know who you are?! How lonely is that going to get? Is that life really worth any of it! Is it worth giving up all you have here - the memories and relationships you have made. Don't tell me you're just going to throw it all away!" Emily gazed between the two of you feeling rather uncomfortable, she had never seen the two of you fight like this before and frankly she didn't want to get involved.
