Your ears rang and every single sound was muffled. The screams, the cries, all of it distant. Your body ached all over, screaming out in silent pain. Blood gurgled through your throat as you tried gasping for the oxygen you so badly needed. Your legs were numb and your chest stung and throbbed. The feeling of something wet seeping through your skin, thick and rich, dark and bold – the blood.

Peter wheezed as he rolled himself over, broken glass and rubble cutting into his skin. The explosion had sent him flying back leaving you to take the brute force of it. He strained his head, trying to catch sight of where he had last seen you. That's when he spotted you, lying there motionless. Stretching out an arm he began to pull himself towards you.

"(Y/N)." He tried to cough out, his voice was weak and feeble. "(Y/N)." he called out once more. As he crawled through the ashes, unscathed people rushed past him, trying to get away from the devastation. But all his focus was on you. He managed to push himself up more as he regained strength and stumbled helplessly to your side.

He called out your name once more as he looked down at you from his knees. He watched as the blood seeped through your shirt, the soot blackening your face. He held a hand to your cheek trying to wipe away the grime.

"C' mon, wake up." He pleaded. "P-Please..." Your eyes were slit open ever so slightly, you could barely make out his voice through the distant screams let alone his glassy brown eyes. You tried to speak but only coughed up the hot and sticky blood that sat in your throat. As your body moved, it stung even more. You cried out in pain, whimpering at the wounds. "I-I'm going to get some help, you're going to fine okay? Okay? You hear me? I'm going to s-stay right here...by your side." He felt tears welling up in his eyes. He knew you weren't dead, but right now the fear was very real. "You're going to be okay." He moved in closer to cradle your head as he sat by your side. "I promise." He held you tighter as the life in your eyes began to fade. The corners of your vision blackened as you felt yourself slipping into unconsciousness.

Were you frightened? Yes, you were terrified. It was a similar feeling to when you had been trapped between your dying mother and the heavy concrete rubble. Except this time, you felt safer knowing that Peter was right there with you, holding you close.

"HELP!" Peter screamed out into the hazy air. "PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" He started to cry, his voice strained and cracking. Sure, he may have been the brave and almighty Spider-Man. But right now, he was just a regular kid, and he was scared out of his mind.

That's when he heard it through his sobs, a beacon of hope. Tony Stark had been wallowing in his guilt, but the moment a loud explosion sounded off in the city centre...he just knew that it had something to do with you. He broke through the glass in his Ironman suit and streamlined towards where a billow of smoke was rising through the air.

"Shit." He cursed as you spotted you from above. Lowering his thrusters, he plummeted towards the rubble stricken ground of what was Times Square. He stumbled slightly as he landed before you only to see you being held tightly in Peter's arms, a plethora of blood pooling from your chest. Peter looked up at him gloomily as Tony fell to his knees opposite him.

"Friday, give me vitals." He held a metal finger to your throat as Friday ran tests.

"Life signs critical, sir. I detect shrapnel about to pierce her left atrium and aorta. I am also detecting two collapsed lungs and temporary paralysis due to pressure on the spine. The cause seems to be from old Stark Industries technology. I am estimating ten minutes until fatality." Tony cursed once more.

"What happened here?" He asked Peter. Tony stared down at your unconscious face and pressed a gloved hand to your cheek. "C' mon kid, wake up...I need you to wake up."
