Chapter Fifteen: The Coals Are Beginning To Glow

Finn's POV:

I wake up early the next morning, just as the sun starts to rise.

I didn't sleep well last night, I doubt any of us did. We all knew what was going to happen.

I walk down the stairs and notice Adam and Flame Princess are already awake.

  I yawn a good morning.

  "Good morning," Flame Princess says.

  Adam remains silent.

"Are you guys hungry?" I ask.

  "Not really," Flame Princess says.

  "I guess," mumbles Adam.

I walk into the kitchen and make two bowls of cereal. I hand one to Adam and I keep the other one.

Adam and I eat in silence, and Flame Princess goes outside.

Once I'm done eating, I head back upstairs to take a quick shower and change clothes.

I walk back downstairs 15 minutes later and Adam goes upstairs.

I go outside and sit down beside Flame Princess.

"So," I say. "I made up my mind and I'm not going with Adam."

"Oh," she says staring at the ground, running her fingers across a few blades of grass.

I watch as the grass turns from green to black then to ash. "Yeah."

"Do you know what happened to my house?" she asks.

  "I don't know,"

"Do you think Bubblegum would have destroyed it too?"

  "It's hard to say,"

"True, well, maybe we can go look,"

"That's fine with me, let's just wait on Adam,"

"Speaking of Adam, it's his last day here," she says.

"I know, Bubblegum gave us a day and a half. So, it was 10:00 last night when she said that, so that means he has to leave at 5:00 tomorrow, right?"

"No, that would mean he has to leave at 10:00 in the morning," Flame Princess laughs. "You really are bad at math."

I roll my eyes, "I'm pretty sure half of ten is five."

"But twelve hours from 10:00 at night would be 10:00 in the morning,"

  "What?" I ask.

  "Forget it," FP smiles.

  Adam then comes outside.

"A day and a half from 10:00 last night would mean that you have to leave at 5:00 tomorrow, right?" I ask him.

  "I think so," Adam replies.

"So, both of you are bad at math," Flame Princess says.

"Whatever, we'll be there at 10:00 just to prove you wrong," I say. "Anyways, is it okay with you if we go to Flame Princess's house today?"

  Adam nods.

"Well, we should probably get going then," I say.

We all begin walking to Flame Princess's house.
