The next morning, Mia called Katie's friend Lizzie. She seemed very sweet and was happy Mia was helping her.
"No problem. Katie said you were freaking out."
Lizzie laughed. "Katie can be a bit dramatic."
"No kidding."
"My wedding isn't for another eight months. I just wanted some ideas but she said she was super busy right now."
Mia rolled her eyes.
She's busy alright. Stealing my ideas.
"Would you want to meet anyway?" Lizzie asked.
"Definitely. Does tomorrow work for you?"
They agreed on a time and would meet at a beachside restaurant, which Mia thought would help to get some good ideas.
Mia started looking for inspiration for Lizzie.
I should have asked if it were a day or evening wedding?
She picked up her phone and saw a text from Christopher.
- Did you call him?
-Of course not
- maybe you should. Let him grovel
Mia laughed and shook her head.
- Fine. But only for you. And I wouldn't mind hearing him grovel.
- Let me know how it goes.
Scrolling through her cell, she found his name, English Dick, and hit call.
After a few rings, he picked up.
"Hello?" He sounded excited.
Must have been hoping to hear from some else Mia thought.
"Hi, um," fuck what was his name again? Oh right. "Henry. It's Mia, the girl you pissed off last night. Christopher said you wanted me to call."
"Mia! I'm so glad you rang," he said. Mia could tell he was smiling and heard a dog bark in the background.
"Are you now? You want to start apologizing?"
Mia starting walking around her apartment, which she did when she was nervous.
Nervous? Why the hell should I be nervous? she wondered.
Henry blew out a breath.
"Mia, I am so sorry about my behavior last night. I'm not usually an asshole."
"So only when you're drunk or did I just get lucky?"
"Yeah, um..."
Mia laughed. "I'm joking."
"Phew," there was a pause. "Mia, would you want to grab coffee or lunch sometime?"
Ok, wasn't expecting that.
"Sure, if you're buying," Mia said. "Do you even remember what I look like?"
Henry laughed. "I have a general idea."
"I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon but we could get coffee in the morning if you're around," Mia said.
"Absolutely. Where do you want to meet? Starbucks?"
Yeah, no.
"Have you been to Sip Java?" Mia asked.
"No, but I can find it. What time?"
"Ten? Or is that too early?" Mia asked.
"Ten is perfect. I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yup."
"Oh and Mia? I really am sorry."
"No worries," Mia said then they hung up.
Shockingly, she always actually looking forward to it.
