Henry watched Mia as she walked down the street. She was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
Usually when people met him they got flustered. Mia didn't. It was refreshing.
Kal pulled on his leash, snapping him out of his daze. How long had he been standing there?
Kal pulled again.
"Alright, I get it buddy," he said and headed for a walk in the opposite direction Mia had went.
He decided to record a video message. Pulling his phone from his shorts pocket, he turned on the video feature.
"Hey guys. Just going for a walk with Kal here," he said turning the camera towards Kal. "It's hot down here in Florida. Kal and I just made a new friend over breakfast." He smiled, thinking of Mia. "She was definitely a breath of fresh air."
He continued on, talking about the Durrell Challenge and how he needed to start working out and hoped to see people at the challenge.
Henry stopped walking and decided to post the video to his instagram page. After, he and Kal turned around and went back to the cafe where his car was parked. He got Kal into the blue Bentley, rounded the car and got in himself.
Driving back to his house he wondered if Mia was serious about going to dinner with him.
I hope so he thought.
Henry pulled into the driveway of his white, Spanish style home.
His cell rang the second he walked through the door. Checking the ID he saw it was his manager.
"Hey Dany," he started but she interrupted him.
"Who is she?"
"Who is who?" he asked and furrowed his brows in confusion.
He sat on his brown leather couch while Kal took off toward the kitchen.
Dany huffed. "The girl you mentioned in your instagram message? Why didn't you give me a heads up?"
He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Just a girl I met a few nights ago."
He explained what happened at the bar and at breakfast.
"Jesus Henry. She could have killed your reputation if she mentioned the bar incident!"
Henry laughed. "She didn't even know who I was until this morning."
"Right."
"Seriously. She didn't. When I told her she as genuinely surprised."
"It was probably an act."
Henry shook his head. "It wasn't and don't worry so much Dany. I can handle myself."
He could practically hear Dany rolling her eyes. "Are you going to see her again?"
Henry smiled. "I hope so."
"Ok. Tell me her name so I can look into her background."
"No," Henry said, suddenly feeling protective. "You don't need to check into her. Besides. I don't know her last name."
Before Dany could continue, he said he had to go and hung up. He groaned when he realized he talked about himself the whole time at breakfast.
She must think I have a huge ego.
Henry was determined to find out more about Mia, his girl next door.
