Henry showed up at 3 on the dot to pick up Mia. Pressing the buzzer, he heard a short crackle and then "Yes?"

"It's Henry."

A quick beep and the door clicked open. Mia opened her apartment door just as he was about the knock. She laughed when they both jumped.

"Shit, you scared me," she said with her hand over her heart.

He let out a deep chuckle and raked his hand through his dark hair. "I guess I was just excited to see you," he said, walking into her apartment.

Mia rolled her eyes. "Sure, let's go with that."

Henry stopped walking and Mia walked into his back.

"Dude, warn a girl."

Turning around, Henry's face was unsmiling.

"What?" Mia asked.

He pressed a palm against her cheek, which she leaned into. His blue eyes found her green ones.

"I meant it. I'm excited to see you."

Mia felt like her heart was beating a mile a minute as his thumb traced her cheekbone.

Though her body was screaming to kiss him, her head won out and she stepped back.

Trying to make light of the awkwardness, Mia laughed. "Well, you'll certainly be seeing a lot of me if we're still watching Pride and Prejudice," she said grabbing the discs.

"Oh really?" Henry looked her up and down, his voice deep. "I certainly hope so."

"I walked right into that one, didn't I?" Mia blushed.

"You did," Henry laughed.

She swatted his hard chest, which today was covered with a Kansas City Chiefs t-shirt. "Oh shut up," she said, trying not to giggle but failing. "Let's go."

She grabbed her bag and phone then locked up.

The car ride to Henry's wasn't all that long but filled with an easy silence.

When they entered the house, Henry disarmed the alarm and Kal came bounding over. Mia knelt down and scratched behind his ears which Kal rewarded her with licks to the face. She laughed.

"I'm starting  to think he likes you more than me," Henry said, ruffling Kal's fur.

Mia stood up and shrugged. "He's got good taste," she teased.

"You wound me Mia," he said, placing a hand over his heart.

"Aw, does someone need a hug?" she asked as though he were a child.

"Couldn't hurt," he pouted.

Could he be any more adorable?

Mia pretended she was going to hug him, but instead tapped his nose and walked through to the living room.

"Did you just boop my nose?" he asked in a childish tone while crossing his massive arms across his chest.

The juxtaposition of his manly body with his childish voice caused Mia to laugh until tears were in her eyes.

"What?" he asked.

"You!" she kept laughing.

He walked up until he was standing right in front of her, his breath fanning her face.

"Glad I can amuse you," he said, his voice suddenly raspy.

Clearing her throat, she asked "where is your remote?" as she turned away, breaking the tension.
