As I entered her room, her lazy eyes met mine. Her messy hair was all over her white pillow, her face was still beautiful but pale. Her skin was covered with sweats. Her broken voice was gone. She sounded different. As soon as I walked through the door, she was examining me from a distance. Her reaction was furious. She really didn't want me in her room.

Her father kissed her on the forehead as she fixed me with disgust. At least, Max wasn't there. I felt like the second man in the house while I was by Mr. Dean's side. I stayed by the door as I listened to their conversation, patiently.
Apparently, Mr. Dean was going on a business trip with his wife, Maria. He was telling Hazel that she was safe with me in the house.

Of course, she disagreed. She really was telling her father that I didn't even apologize to her last week. That I hated her and wanted to be with Max instead. Deep down, I didn't hate her. The way her innocent broken voice spoke about me was adorable. She was like a little Barbie doll.

Her father was leaving tonight. He wanted me to take care of Hazel.

Hazel! Yes!

He wanted me to take care of his daughter. He trusted me.

"You'll be okay, sweetheart." Her father kissed her on the cheeks. "I promise. Hawk will take care of you." He walked towards the door as I followed him, quietly.

"Stay." My heart floated as soon as I heard her sexy voice behind me.

Did I hear that right? Did Hazel just ask me to stay? Did she really ask me while her father was on his way outside? Did she really want me in her bedroom? Those questions were navigating in my head. I couldn't believe my ears. I wanted to just stay and tell her that everything was going to be okay but I didn't have the courage.

It was just one of her games.

"It's better if I leave." I avoided eye contact. I knew that I would've completely lost it if I made eye contact with her. I didn't want to hear any more of her insults.

"Please." She begged. "Stay."

"Hawk, she wants you to stay." Her father interrupted my thoughts. "She needs you." As soon as he convinced me to stay, he closed the door after him.

I placed my hands in my pocket as I fixed her on her bed. My heart was heating up. Her beauty was so hard to resist. She was so beautiful. She was so gorgeous. Man!
I was just trying my best not to steal her lips away from her. It was going to be difficult to trick her. Her beauty was getting out of hands.

She was getting hotter every second of every day.

"Make it quick." I forced my tone to react. "I'm listening."

"You can sit on my bed if you want." She offered, nervously.

"I'm good," I said, sternly. "Talk."

Trust me. Those words were so difficult for me to handle. I wanted to be nice so bad to her but it was just not the right time. She humiliated me in front of her boyfriend. She acted like I was the one guilty. She chose Max's side. I really didn't want to be a fool. I wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine.

A little taste of me.

"Can you do me a favor?" She sneezed. The flavor of her presence was contagious. She was really sick.

"I don't do favors." I turned away as I tried to leave. "Call Max."

"We broke up." Her words hit me like a volcano. Today was a really good day. She was finally alone. Her parents were leaving the house for a few days. Things were just getting better and better. "I lied to my dad. I didn't want him to worry about the situation. I told him that he left town and went to visit his cousins." Her tone was sincere for the first time. She didn't sound hurt at all. She was actually okay.
