Betrayal.

Have you ever been betrayed by someone? Your best friend? Your family? Your partner in crime? Your own enemies?

I've been on that road plenty of times. Isn't that right Mother? Am I wrong Jessica Halls? What about you, Mr. Dean? I have a question, Maria Brown? What was my father's last words before he died? Did he scream for help? Did he ask you to take care of his only son? Did he tell you that he was my only world? Did he beg you for another day?

Now, Jack Walter? Tell me something. What did I do to deserve that? Please, tell me. Maybe I can remind you that you're my best friend and I love you very much. Maybe I can tell you that you're important to me and you're the last person in my life right now that I can trust? Maybe I can beg you to take my life instead of my unborn child? Maybe I was too harsh? Forgive me. Maybe I was too selfish? Forgive me. Maybe I was too friendly? Forgive me, Jack but I didn't deserve that. I didn't expect you to betray me like this? I didn't expect you to take my only happiness away from me.

Why? Just why?

"Jack? Jack? Where the fuck are you, traitor?" I yelled and headed straight to the kitchen. "Why did you kill my baby? Why would you do that to me?" I grabbed him by the shirt as a smile played on his face. He wasn't taking me seriously. My unborn baby just died and he apologized with a smile.

A petty smile.

"Oh," He laughed. "The poison." His body language screamed for pity. "Hazel told you. This girl is something else. Do you believe her?" His question tortured my mind, angrily. "Do you?"

"Shut the fuck up!" I punched him straight in the face. He didn't try to fight back. He gave me a free allowance to finish him alive. "Is this a joke?"

"Hawk, come on, man." He chuckled, desperately. "Do you think I'm really capable of killing a baby? My best friend's child?" I let go of him. "Come on man, you know me better than this. We're talking about your baby here. I'm not crazy. I'll never do that to you." He sighed with deep sadness in his eyes. "I'll never do that to you, Hawk." He grabbed my face roughly. "Look at me, I have your back. Forever and Always."

"Then why do I feel like you're hiding something else from me?" I spoke my mind. "Why are you so distant? Why don't you like Hazel?"

"Okay, Hawk."He took a sip of his cold strawberry lemonade. "First of all, your baby is still alive and It was Hazel's idea for the record. Second of all, I don't hate Hazel. I love her as my sister."His eyes reflected on Hazel's shadow from a distance. "Hazel? You're here. Please, tell him." He ordered. "I think it's time. He deserves the truth."

"What are you talking about?"My brows disagreed with his words. "What truth?" Hazel made her way towards me. "Hazel? What is Jack talking about?" My question tormented my head with empty confusions.

"Hawk." Hazel caressed my face, gently. "It was a prank." They both laughed. "Your reaction was the best, babe." Her last word captured my mind with a serious exclamation mark.

Babe? Did I miss something?

"What did you just call me?" My broken voice replied, confusingly. "Hazel? What's going on?" I glanced at Jack. "Jack? What's happening?" I gestured.

"Excuse me, Hawk." Jack excused himself. "I have somewhere to be." He tried to stay away from the subject by giving a silly excuse for his absence. "Hazel, If you don't tell him. I will." He gave me a soft punch to the arm as his presence faded away, rapidly. Jack was hiding me something. So was Hazel.

"What is it, Hazel?" I wanted answers. "What is Jack talking about?" My dry throat was whispering for my saliva, silently. I had a bad feeling and It was breaking me down slowly.
