Bang Chan [Stray Kids]

Annyeong, my lovely chingus! Some of you may already know this one shot because I posted it up as a one shot in Wattpad Amino's K-Pop House Club Monthly but I'll just upload one here for those who want to read it too...also, I've made up my mind that I'll be switching Y/N to names in each one shot..but anyways, enjoyyy !!!

You and Bang Chan have been the best of friends ever since his trainee days. You too were a trainee of JYP but after quite some time, you decided that the time wasted with being a trainee could be used for a real job, which caused you to stop being a trainee. Despite that, you and Chan still keeps in contact and you come over to the building from time to time to meet up with the him and the rest of the group.

Aside from being the best of friends, you have had a crush on your best friend for so long now but you're not that brave of a person to confess to him and plus, you're a few years older than him, he might not be into older women. Although you two has an age difference, that didn't stop the two of you from having a fun time.

Just recently, you finally got the will to move on with your life and dated someone else. You met your boyfriend from work and you two bonded a lot. At one point, you forgot all about Chan and of course, he was really mad about it but eventually, the two of you got through the little fight.

You were in the dance room in JYP's building, sitting with Chan, alone.

" So, how are you two hanging along? " Chan asked, he never really liked talking about your boyfriend but for the sake of it, he'd ask about it anyways.

" Well, I guess. It's been two years after all. " you smiled, thinking of your sweet boyfriend.

" You better not forget about me again, I don't have much free time and it's hard clearing my schedule for you. It's not really fun when you forget and I have to re-clear my schedule again. " Chan complained which made you chuckle.

" I won't...I'm sorry about that though. I was meeting up with his parents. " you apologised for the 10th time since you saw him this morning. Chan still gets bothered by that incident although you don't mind apologising since you really do feel bad about it.

The two of you talked for a little bit before Chan had to continue practicing and you had to leave. Stray Kids was about to debut and Chan has been extra busy but he still managed to clear at least a day from each week to hang out with you, which you appreciate so much.

It was the next week and you were out in the coffee shop with Chan, sitting across from each other.

The two of you talked about your week and what happened throughout that time before Chan brought up your boyfriend again.

" I still can't believe that your boyfriend's my age. I kind of thought that you'd go for guys older than you. " Chan said which made you laugh a bit.

" To be very honest, I never really thought I'd end up with a younger guy. " you said. " Though, I did kind of sense that I like younger guys. "

" How so? " Chan asked with curiosity.

" Uhm well, now that I have a boyfriend, I don't think it'll be much of an issue if I were to say it out loud. I used to have a crush on you and since you're younger than me, I kind of knew about it. Though, I never really said anything because I thought you wouldn't go for an older woman. " you said while circling the lid of your coffee cup.

" Oh, I...didn't know that. " he chuckled but continued on. " Funny though, because back then, during our trainee days, I had a crush on you too. "

The both of you laughed as you two couldn't believe what you'd just heard from each other.

" If only one of us spoke up, I wonder what'll actually happen to us by now. Funny how choices affects the future, huh. " you laughed.

It was unbelievable to you that a guy like Bang Chan actually had a crush on you. You spent days in your dorm room, thinking about how much of a boyfriend material he is and how nice it would be to date him. Every single day that you see him, you were tempted to give him a hug or even just hold his hands as you walked. There were even times you'd think of how great it would feel to give him a kiss and run your fingers through his hair. He was one of those guys that you'd imagine being together with despite it being impossible.

" Yeah, it really is. " Chan smiled.

Chan's POV

I went back to my dorm after a day with her and sat on the couch as I sighed.

Felix came to sit beside me and asked about what's bothering me. I told him what happened which caused him to sit up straight and look me in the eye.

" Why didn't you tell her? " he asked but I simply sighed.

" I would but she said that she used to have a crush on me. It's in past tense, there's no chance. " I said which made Felix sigh.

" I told you, you should've confessed back then. " Felix muttered.

" I didn't know. I thought she won't go for younger guys. I never thought that we'd both have the same thinking towards each other and have that stop us from doing anything. " I groaned.

" Seriously though, she's gotten over you. It's about time you get over her too. Although I was kind of hoping that you'd confess to her despite her boyfriend and the two of you would end up together anyways. " Felix joked and I smiled.

" Yeah, I hoped so too. "

Your POV

" Oh my god, Chan said that? " your best friend said.

" Yeah, he did. I still can't believe it. I used to fantasize being with him, like can you believe that all that could actually come true if one of us said something? " you said, still flabbergasted.

" Yes, I can. I told you to go for him back then. " she said, annoyed by the fact that the two of you could've been together. " Well, why didn't you say something earlier? It could still happen, you know. "

" He said it himself, he used to. He doesn't anymore. It's not like I can do anything about it. As much as I still do like him, I've got a boyfriend now and I'd much rather not risk it for something else that might not work out if I do speak up. It's bad to have people talk about how I confessed to someone else while dating someone and go back to that someone since the person I confessed to didn't like me anymore. I'd rather not. " you justified yourself.

Little did the two of you know, both of you could've been together.
