Emotions

Emotions are nothing
But a temporary thing
The raging feelings
And the seeping hormones
Are nothing
But tricks
Of the mind
Delusions
Of the heart
Dreams
Of the soul

The friendship you thought would last a lifetime
Will eventually fade
The people you thought you could count on
Will eventually leave
The feelings you had for a person
Will eventually vanish
The trust you had on a person
Will eventually betray

Are you still holding on to emotions
O tired soul
Turn to your Lord
The Protecting Friend
Allahu Waliyyun Nasiir

Hold on to Allah
And He will never
Fade
Leave
Vanish
Or betray
He would never leave you astray
For a blink of an eye
So long as you hold on to Him
