Beauty can be deceptive
Just like an arch of rainbow
Forming after a splash of rain
Through which trees grow
A riot of colours,
A treasure from heaven
For the onlookers belowBut,
Rainbow is a deception
A beautiful lie
How do I fathom
That rainbow is just an illusion
If you've ever seen one,
Consider yourself bright
'Coz for a rainbow to appear
The conditions must be just rightLight reflects and refracts
From tiny droplets in the sky
Though it's
as bewitching as butterfly
It is deception, a beautiful lieBut some beauty gives life
Flowers in the light
Lily, buttercups, aconite
Diverse colours, a ravishing sightIt opens up its petals
The source of food
For tiny, meek insects
Bees, beetles, butterflies
Suck on its succulent nectar
That gives them lifeFlowers soon dry up
Fruits taking their places
In shades of green, blue, orange and yellow
Round, oblong, cylinder and more
Different shapes, different sizes
Source of health
Source of wealth
For humans and all
Beauty that feeds and nourishes
The hungry soulDo not be deceived
'Coz beauty deceives
Open up your eyes
To everything that lies
As there is always two sides to a story
