Raabta
(v.) inexplicable connection with another soul.

✉ ✉ ✉

to the boy in red-&-blue shirt,

moon-kissed skin, red cheeks, wandering eyes
she knows you're the only light in her dark grey skies
high hopes, fear of love, a part hidden just like the moon
her heart wishes to be close to your warm touch soon

ink-stained hands, tear-stained spectacles, paper clips
you're the only one these days to catch her when she slips
broken wings, night-time soul, hiding behind those glasses
you have to see beyond her smile before she turns into ashes

cruel rumours, hateful comments, burning rage
don't you believe them if they say she's a heartless cage
trembling fingers, blinking eyelids, beating heart
you made her curious from the first word, from the start

forgotten memories, and high tides, washed the shore again
you will either mend this poet or be another bittersweet rain
half-hearted smile, fear crashing the mind, lonely stars
you'll find her in pastel flowers and screaming scars

early sunrises, bicycle rings, patient morning walk
she's always too lost in your eyes to listen to your talk
your red-&-blue shirt, her red shoes, two poetry verses
tying you two with some higher dimensional forces

from the girl in red shoes.

history repeats itself to give us our well-deserved second chance.
with tonnes of love,
SweetSimu.
