I am Sawyer

*Kane's POV*

I was in the dressing room, tapping away on my phone as time ticked by slowly. I took a deep breath, trying to remind myself that everything would be alright. I jumped as my manager swung the door open. I followed as we headed to the set for today's interview. I could hear my fans screaming outside the building. I was positioned on set and told to take a seat.

"two minutes!" Someone called.

My nerves skyrocketed as I bounced my leg up and down nervously. I felt my chest getting tight and it became hard to swallow. I closed my eyes and reminded myself to breathe. Everyone was bustling about the studio. The anchors were preparing for the interview and the camera crew was preparing to air this live. 

No pressure, right? 

My hand was gently pulled out of the balled up fist I was making as she spread her fingers between mine. I felt the smile cross my face and opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was our hands entwined. I looked up into Sawyer's eyes and felt my smile grow. The makeup and hair team was attempting to jump in to fix her loose hairs. Leave it to her to make it difficult for them.

There was a ten second count down pulled up, and the anchors jumped into position. I smiled at them before looking at Sawyer. She gave me a nervous smile. I brought her hand up and kissed the back of it, making her smile grow and her to let out a soft laugh as they called "live".

"Well good morning everyone! We have a special airing today as we have two guests with us. You're hearing this exclusively here first as we are joined by Kane Brown and Sawyer Michigan. Good morning you two!" the female anchor said

"Good morning! Thanks for having us." I smiled.

"Now correct me if I'm wrong but a little over a month ago we had you on here alone and showed our viewers and you some pictures of you with a young lady. Is this her?" The male asked

"Yes it is. This is my girlfriend Sawyer." I smiled at Sawyer

"You two both seem very happy together. I'm sure your fans are happy for you as well." the female said

"Actually," I said and looked at Sawyer nervously, "This is our first interview together and us officially coming out to my fans as a couple. But we are very happy together. She makes me very happy." I said

"I can see. Just look at that smile!" The female laughed

"Let's hear a little from Sawyer herself." The male said

Sawyer blushed, "I don't really know what to say."

"How about what's it like to be dating one of the biggest country stars?" the male asked

"Getting used to the schedules has been crazy. But he's been really supportive an makes sure I've got everything I need. Seeing a concert from backstage is definitely different." Sawyer said

"Different how?" asked the female

"A lot of people don't see what goes into setting up a stage or how the sound system is set up. They see everything put together and finished while I see it getting set up an torn down." Sawyer explained

"Now we've heard that you get your own fancy headset, is that true?" the female asked

"Yes, that's for if I start having a panic attack then I can hear her talking to me an that really helps me cuz then I know she's right back stage and I can hear her at any time." I said

"Wow. Speaking of panic and panic attacks, take us through this journey you've gone on." The female suggested.

"Well, a while ago I had a panic attack an ran off stage. I had never had one before then so I had no idea what was going on. My team sent me back home to get some rest and recover so I could get back on tour. I got there and was more focused on writing music because I wanted to get back out there. It wasn't until Sawyer came into my life that I actually took time to recover and rest. She's been helping me every step of the way since." I squeezed Sawyer's hand.
