Third person's POV

A few weeks later, and Lily was back to her old self again. She had healed up completely and at a very fast rate, as the doctors had predicted. And everyone was happy about that.

During her recovery, Lily took the time to practice and learn Catherine's language. She and Catherine would spend hours together, practicing. Lily loved the fact that Catherine was spending all her time teaching her. She appreciated that. Most of all, because she knew Catherine had important duties. Duties, she was putting on hold.

Especially the BC wasn't pleased with that. They expected much more from their Superior though, they couldn't help but be relieved that their queen was back.

They were intrigued by the way she was brought back: by the Grandfather Superior. They felt like he deserved some redemption, in a way. And, surprisingly, Catherine agreed.

And so Vernon was discharged from his crimes. He was still responsible for Lilian's death, of course, but he had 'paid' his price. He had given back what he had taken in the first place.

When Marianne heard about this, she wasn't sure how she felt about it. She could understand the reasoning that was behind it, but she still felt as if the BC forgot about Lilian. Though, Catherine reassured her that wasn't the case.

The public took the news with mixed feelings as well. Many admired Lilian greatly, simply because she was a human who showed so much care about others, no matter what their kind was. People loved a queen like that. And, when she was being taken from them by their own leader, they not only felt upset but also betrayed.

Catherine knew that the public would have mixed feelings about it when she told them. But she also knew that they would follow her decision nevertheless because she had suffered the most.

And so, without further troubles, Vernon's name was cleared and he could finally rest next to his wife. His remains were buried in the same grave as Lilian's.

When the ceremony took place, Catherine couldn't help but wonder how her opinion of her father had changed. For years she was able to murder him herself, to make him feel the pain she had felt. She wouldn't give him the pleasure of meeting his daughter-in-law or his grandchild, or to make it up to her in some way.

Yet here she was. Burying him, the person she could have killed before, with her mother, the one person she loved almost as much as Lily. Never, in a million years, did she think this would ever happen. But she was glad that it happened, because he had changed. And she was grateful to have witnessed that.

And she was proud to show this to Emily. To show Emily that even the biggest criminal, the worst enemy could become good. No one was simply evil or simply good, there's always a mixture of both in everyone.

After the ceremony, people left for the reception afterwards. But Catherine wasn't done yet.

Catherine stood in front of her parents' grave and sighed. She knelt down to be closer to them somehow. She looked at the gravestone, which held the pictures of both her mother and her father. And she smiled.

"I hope you're together now," She looked down. "I hope you'll be in love again, and go out again, and have many dates."

She looked at their pictures. Her mother was so young in her picture compared to how old her father looked in his. "I bet you'll have much to say to each other. It's been a while..."

She gulped before looking at her mother's picture. "Mom, will you please not be angry at dad?" Catherine paused, feeling tears form in her eyes. "I know that what he did was wrong but he truly is sorry. He saved my wife to show me that, he simply wanted to be back with you."

She gulped, trying to get the tears to stay away. She looked at her father's picture. "And dad, will you please take care of mom?" Catherine paused yet again as she felt herself getting really emotional. "She's been alone for years, she'll need you."

She then wiped the tears, which were rolling down her face, away. "And dad," She gulped. "Thank you."

At that moment, Lily walked to Catherine, placing her hand on Catherine's shoulder. "Are you ok?"

Catherine nodded before getting up again. "I just needed to tell them this before we go."

Lily nodded. "I understand," She then wiped Catherine's tears away before caressing her face. "I'm so proud of you. The fact you did this for your father shows how strong of a person you are."

Catherine smiled a bit. "They taught me that." She motioned to her parents' grave.

"I know," Lily smiled. "And I can't wait for you to pass that on to our daughter."

Catherine smiled more then. "I love you, haewa."

"I love you too, haewa."

"Mommy!" Emily ran towards them, her arms up.

Lily knelt down a bit to pick Emily up before looking at Catherine again. "Zaezzes is going to teach you a lot of things, honey."

Emily looked from Lily to Catherine. "Yay!" She clapped her hands. "Now?"

Catherine chuckled. "Whenever you want, hianag." Catherine said as she wrapped her arm around her wife and guided her little family back home.
