“We won’t hurt you, sweetie. We’re just here to help.” A woman with her short black hair softly curled around her soft features gently rubbed Jeongin’s arm.

“Would you like to meet your roommate? We made sure to pick the nicest boy here, so you could be comfortable.” Another therapist, this one with long dark brown hair pulled up into a loose bun, asked him. Jeongin hesitantly nodded, standing up, gripping a therapists arm for support.

They led Jeongin to a medium sized room, with two beds adjacent to one another. One of the beds had nothing but a mattress and white sheets, while the other had a pale blue duvet messily strewn across it. There were picture frames on the bedside table, which depicted pictures of a teenage boy with squirrel-like cheeks standing next to what Jeongin assumed was his family.

Jeongin smiled. They were a cute family. He wondered what had his roommate sent here. He looked perfectly fine in the photos, not sad and not abnormally malnourished. He looked perfect, if Jeongin was to be honest. He hoped his roommate would be kind to him, maybe even becoming his first friend since middle school.
