"Are you certain?" Kimiko asked, her arms crossed.

She stood unfazed as a rain of bullets shot through the paper targets in accuracy.

Zero lowered the pistol to answer her.

"I just can't let you do all the work, not that you can't handle it. On the contrary, you can manage everything on your own." Zero said in humor, letting out a strained chuckle.

Kimiko sighed and shook her head. Though, a ghost smile crept on the corner of her lips.

"Stubbornness will only do you good for few certain situations."

"Like this one?"

"I never knew you were quite the joker, Zero."

Shrugging, he said, "I tried." before raising his pistol to shoot at another sets of targets.

Recuperating with Kimiko might be the best thing that has ever happened to him in his life before the massacre.

As long as Kimiko's there for him, he felt safe and at ease. It would be a lie if he said he does not feel any certain emotions for the woman.

"Loosen your grip on the pistol, it'll hurt your wrist when you fire. Your shoulders and tense too, so relax." Kimiko lectured. She came to his side and held his hands.

"Here." She muttered.

Red tinted his cheeks, feeling flustered. Zero fought the urge to gulp, refusing to let her know his anxiousness.

"T-thanks." He stuttered. Welp, so much for hiding.

"There you are!" The indoor shooting range's door bursted open by a short-haired brunette, causing the peaceful air around the room to quickly disintegrate.

"Great." Zero thought in sarcasm. He felt disappointed when Kimiko let his hands go.

"Do you know how long I—! O-oh, Kimiko-san." Yuki cut herself, mid-sentence when she noticed the other party's present.

Kimiko nodded in acknowledgement. "Yuki, you no longer have to worry. Zero will be attending class today." She informed.

"Really?!" Yuki exclaimed in relief. "Are you really alright now, Zero?" She asked, concern.

"I'm fine now, Yuki. Like what Kimiko said, I'll be coming to class." He confirmed.

"Thank god." Yuki sighed. She went to Kimiko and held her hands saying, "Thank you for taking care of him, Kimiko-san!"

Not knowing how to react in this kind of situation, Kimiko gave her a blank look. "No problem."

Yuki sweat dropped.

"Sateto [Well], would you care to join us for breakfast?" Kimiko suggested.

Yuki's eyes brightened. She fell in love with Kimiko's cooking ever since she took a bite on it.

While daydreaming on what she would have for breakfast, her eyes suddenly landed on Kimiko's neck.

Her eyes widened when she caught sight of a familiar cloth. Kimiko was wearing a white, turtleneck sweater that is why she cannot see it clearly at first. But when Kimiko's neck moved, her sweater was slightly pulled down, showing Yuki a tiny view of what seemed to be a white bandage.

"Are those bandages? Don't tell me...Zero bit Kimiko-san?" Yuki thought.

Noticing Yuki's distraught, Kimiko asked, "What's wrong?"

Hearing Kimiko's voice, Yuki shook her head and sheepishly laughed.

"A-ahaha...it's nothing. I-I was just wondering what we'll have for breakfast." She said in half truth.

Kimiko was not convinced by Yuki's poor acting, but she choose to ignore it to respect her privacy.

The three left the shooting range. Kimiko and Zero went back to their respective dorm rooms to freshen up and wear their uniforms.

Standing in front of a mirror wearing nothing but a small towel, Kimiko stare at two punctured wounds on her slender neck.

Lucky for her, today's weather was really cold, giving her a reason to wear a scarf without looking suspicious. She placed medicine on it and wrapped a clean bandage over it.

For extra precaution, she wore a white turtleneck bodysuit over her shirt. She wouldn't want anyone, especially the Night Class to look at Zero's bite mark.

A vampire hunter of her caliber, being bitten by a measly Level D. They would think she was weak and do by all means to attack her.

When Kimiko and Zero entered their classroom, they were immediately swarmed—especially Kimiko—by concerned classmates.

They were even kind enough to lend them their notes, which end up as a fight on which notes will Kimiko take.

After class, the three went in front of the Moon Dorm's gates for the crossover.

In her absence, the fangirls were not kept under control by one Yuki. They easily flick her out the crowd like a fly.

Regardless, Yuki did her best to contain these rowdy fangirls in their place.

But now with her presence, like what Moses did to the red sea, the students parted.

"Kimiko-sama, you're back!" When the gates opened, an eccentric blonde vampire spread his arms to hug her. A hand quickly grabbed him by the collar, momentarily blocking his windpipe.

He coughed harshly. "Are you trying to kill me, Shiki?!"

Shiki gave him an emotionless stare as usual.

"Keep your ground, Hanabusa." He briefly said.

"Hah?! You wanna fight?!" Irk marks popped on his forehead as he grabbed Shiki's uniform.

Suddenly, a metal rod smacked him on the back of his head. The metal rang while a huge bump formed on his head.

Aido was momentarily frozen, dumbfounded that someone had the audacity to hit him.

"Who hit me?! I dare you hit me again and we'll see how I'll deal with you—!" Facing the person behind him...

He saw Kimiko holding Artemis—which she borrowed from Yuki.

"You can hit me as many times as you want!"

In the background, Yuki and Zero looked at him as if he has a few loose screws. As for his fellow vampire classmates, they looked utterly embarrassed.
