A/N
Hey guys. Mind me; I don't really do author notes at the beginning of the chapter. Well, this note is to make a dedication, even though I don't do dedications. I've decided to give dedications to readers who vote and comment. Anyway, this chapter's dedicated to MikiBeeMB. Thanks for your support!

Rhylee and I were walking to the cafeteria during lunch. Today was very tiring. Well, it is very tiring, seeing as the day isn't over yet. Great. I guess I'm this tired because of yesterday's 'outing.'

"Hey, Sam?"

I looked at her. I was previously staring at the floor tiles.

"Have you noticed something strange today?"

I shook my head. "Nope. Why?"

"Ryder's not in school today."

My eyes widened and I gasped. "I didn't even notice!"

Rhylee smirked. "You forgot about your Prince Charming." She added a little chuckle at the end of the statement.

I glared at her and felt my cheeks turn red. She just laughed the more. We got to the cafeteria, grabbed our food trays, got our lunch, and headed over to our usual two-person table.

"You know what?" She asked.

"What?" I reply, putting a French Fry in my mouth.

"I think you should go over to his place today. You know, to check up on him and ask about his well being."

"Are you crazy? Why would I do that?"

"One. Because you're his friend. Two. Because it's probably your fault that he's not in school."

"One. We are not friends. We're acquaintances. Two. How's it my fault?"

"One-"

"Can we please stop talking in numbers? It's getting pretty irritating."

She shrugged. "Okay. As I was saying, you guys are friends. Have you seen him interact with anyone at school except you?"

I sighed, knowing I'd lost on this one. "No."

"Then that proves you guys are friends. Let's leave that topic for now. Why won't you go over to his house after school today? You do know the way right?"

I thought about it for a while. "Yes. Yes I can remember the way. But it's not my fault he's not in school."

"That may be true, but not precisely accurate at the same time. You brought up the issue of his parents, right?"

I nodded in the affirmative.

"Then maybe that's why he didn't come. Maybe he thought he wouldn't feel comfortable seeing you today."

"Ugh," I put my head in my hands. "I feel so bad. So, so, bad."

Rhylee put her hand on my head. "Don't feel bad. That's why you need to go and see him today. I can come with you if you like."

I raised my head up and put about 10-15 fries in my mouth.

Not at the same time, of course!

I sighed. "I'll go and see him,"

She gave a toothy grin. "But you don't have to come with me. In fact, I'm begging you. Please don't come." I pleaded.

She pouted. "Well, why the hell not?!" Some people stared at us and I ushered for Rhylee to lower her voice.
