I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs. Ryder approached me with a breakfast tray of eggs, bacon, bread, and butter.

I laughed. "Breakfast in bed? Who are you and what have you done with Ryder?"

He feigned hurt. "What do you mean by that?"

"I mean that the normal Ryder won't do something this nice."

He set the tray down on my laps.
"Well, maybe I won't for an ordinary person, but I'll make some adjustments for my girlfriend."

I scoffed. "Your girlfriend?"

He sat down beside me. "Yes. My girlfriend. Well, she'll earn that title if, no, when she accepts my proposal." He looked at me eagerly.

Is he really asking me out? Wow. It's not that I don't want him to 'cause I really do. It's just that I want him to do it willingly and not because we had that argument last night.

"Ryder, why are you doing this?"

"Because I want to. I've been looking forward to this ever since I met you."

"No, you haven't. You've been looking forward to this ever since last night."

"Don't talk like that, Sam. You know I love you."

I sighed. It is too early for this.

"Yes I know you do, Ry. But if we hadn't had that argument yesterday, this won't be happening."

He took my hand in his. "I've been planning this for a while now. I've been wanting to ask you out for a long time. I was just too chicken to do so and the time wasn't just right."

"So you think the time is right now?"

He ran his hand through his hair. "Yes. So what do you say? Would you be my girlfriend, Sam?"

I felt as if my heart was in my throat as I said the three letter word.

"Yes. Yes I would." I laughed and hugged him.

"You don't know how happy you've made me, Sam."

I smiled against his neck then I let go of him.

"So what do we do now?" I asked him.

"Anything that couples do?" He shrugged.

"So what exactly do couples do?"

He ran a hand through his hair- a simple act, yet one of my favourite things to watch him do.

"I dunno. This whole relationship thing is confusing."

I laughed and returned to my untouched breakfast.

"Where's Willow?"

"Oh, I dropped her off at school already."

My eyes widened and I dropped my fork. School.

"School!" I shrieked and jumped out of bed. "What's the time? My bag and books aren't here. I haven't had my bath yet. And most importantly, I have no clothes to wear!" I started pacing around the room.

Ryder laughed. He laughed and laughed until tears came out of his eyes.

"Why are you laughing? I can't miss school; we have exams next week Thursday!"

"I'm messing with you. Today is Sunday. Willow's still asleep!" He laughed.

"You!" I turned red with rage. "How dare you mess with me?" I ran to the bed and jumped on him, playfully tugging at his hair. He flipped us over so that he was on top of me. He supported his weight with his elbows.
