her awakening
she's always tried to be the dream girl
everyones expectations pouncing on her like a lion pounces prey
one day she looked in the mirror
and realized
i'll never be that perfect girl
why do I even try
even if I succeed
I'll still feel locked inside
she realized she didn't
need anyone's approval
for it would haunt her
her whole life
she began to become
who she is today
tonight
she still doesn't know who that is
one day she'll be able to see
for now for today
she begs for you to "trust in me"
she's drowning in the water
she cannot stay afloat
but one day she'll soar above
without getting soaked
one day someone will show her
parts of herself
that she neglects to see
you see,
she criticizes herself
every day, without need
the message she wants
to say right now
she'd like herself to believe
although she has no courage now
today is all she needs
