Mom has changed. I'm not sure what it is, but something about her is different.
"I think we should do an aerobics class together" She tells me with an excited smile on her face as I'm eating breakfast
"Huh?" I ask with a mouth full of food
"An aerobics class. You and I. Starcourt Mall"
"When?"
"Whenever you are free my beautiful little girl" She tells me, she reaches across the table and puts her hand under my chin and squeezes my jaw a little, then the phone rings. Mom jumps up to answer it.
"Hello, this is the Wheelers. Yeah, just a sec" Mom puts the phone down and yells out to Mike who's in the basement "Mike! Phone!"
"Okay"
I look over to Dad who's also sitting at the table and looks like he still hasn't comprehended Moms odd but loveable behaviour and affection towards me.
"Wh - What was that?" He ask as he looks between Mom and I and points in Moms direction I shrug my shoulders and look back at her.
"What?" Mom asks in disbelief while she's still holding the phone to her ear
"Mom! Get off the phone! How many times?!" Mike then screeches from the basement
"Did Nana call?!" She yells back
"No, Mom! Just get. Off. The. Phone!" Mike yells back to her Mom scoffs and hangs the phone up and turns back around to Dad and I "Apparently Nana called"
"Okay well, I have had a great morning with my lovely parents but I am going to head to Starcourt Mall - Not to do aerobics" I say as I point to Mom before she can get exited and I watch disappointment wash over her and I start to stand up "But to hopefully avoid Hopper and maybe see someone I know to catch up with"
"Remember we have plans with Tommy H's family one night in the next week so don't make any plans yet" Mom calls out to me as I leave the house. Mom and Tommy's Mom have started talking again, this leading them to make plans for a reunion dinner.

I head to Scoops Ahoy, the shop where Steve and Robin work at. Robin was always a smart person, she was in my American History class. I guess you could say we were friends, we'd talk to each other during the class every now and then, give each other a head nod in the halls sometimes. I knew something was up with her by the way she looked at Tammy Thompson, it was obvious. As I approach the shop I see the back of Steve's head and a very familiar, curly head of hair with a green and yellow hat on. I jump up behind the high booths and pull myself over, catching their attention as I put my feet on the seat and slide down between the two.
"Woah-"
"Excuse me can you not climb on-"
"Hey Steven" I look over at the curly headed boy and smile "Hi Dustin"
