"Sam why do you have two different colored shoes on?" Lucas asks me as he sits on the couch and I sit on the floor with my knees up to my chest
"Because I couldn't find my other white shoe" I tell him simply
"Did you have two black shoes?" Mike asks
I look up at him "Yeah"
"Then why didn't you just wear the black shoes?" Mike asks as he gets a little frustrated and how stupid he thinks I sound
"Because the black didn't really go with the outfit"
Mike looks at me like I've got three heads and he's frowning "Idiot" he turns away and looks at Lucas "Can you try Max again, we need then to come over"
"I'll try" Lucas picks up the walki talki "Do you copy? This is a code red. I repeat, this is a code red. Max. Do you copy? - This is a code red" we all wait for a reply
"Shut. Up" is all we hear back
"She turned it off" Lucas looks at Mike and then to me "She turned it off. What does that mean?"
"It means she doesn't want to talk to you" I tell him obviously
Mike gets up and walks over to our phone that's on the wall and puts in Max's number.
"I'm sleeping. Go away" We hear Max's voice through the opposite end of the phone
"This is Mike. Do not hang up. Something happened, something bad. Our very lives can be at stake"
"What are you talking about?"
"Just come over to my house. We'll explain everything"
"What?"
"Hurry" Mike hangs up the phone and looks at us "Try Dustin again"
"He's not answering" Lucas tells him from his place on the couch next to Will
"So, try him again"
"Dustin, do you copy? I repeat, this is a code red"
"He's not going to reply. He's busy, I was with him yesterday" I tell Mike
"Why were you with Dustin?" Lucas asks me
"Steve and Robin were also there" All the boys look at me with questioning looks "All I'm saying is that Dustin is doing something else and he hasn't got time for you losers"

Max and El finally arrive at our house, we get them to sit down in the basement as Will starts to talk.
