One Truth

For the next couple of days, Emma wouldn't leave Hugo or Luka's side for anything. No matter what the others have tried, Emma was stubborn about not wanting to be with anyone else. Even Juleka was having an issue getting close to her again, but she could understand the feeling of wanting to be comforted by someone she trusts.

None of them understood what was wrong with the little girl, and she wouldn't share a word about what was bothering her so much. Hugo, Luka, and Juleka simply came to the conclusion that maybe she was just scared to be on her own during the akuma attack and just wanted her older brother there with her. She wanted anyone that would be able to protect her by her side.

Even Honey wouldn't share what was bothering Emma, no matter how many times she was asked by Ryu or Hugo when they were alone. Honey believed that this was something that she had to share on her own. She didn't want to risk getting Emma akumatised.

That night, Luka tucked Emma into bed, knowing Hugo had a thing he needed to do tonight for school. He offered to go with him, just to keep him company, but Hugo shook his head no, claiming he didn't want to keep Luka up later than he could stay up.

As Hugo was out on his own in the streets of Paris, he couldn't help but stand around, wondering where he could find the master. He couldn't help but repeat to himself why it was so important to find the master in the first place over and over again. Just to keep him from forgetting what's important.

"Hey kid, are you lost?" the boy in the leather catsuit asked as he stood on the street lamp, staring back at him. Cat Noir then jumped down from the lamp, and with a smile walked over to him. "Where you headed? Maybe I can help?"

Hugo hesitated a bit before looking into the boys green eyes and stepping away from him.

"Sorry, Cat Noir, but I'm not really sure you can help me right now," he says as a look of discomfort came across his face. "I just need to find... someone."

Cat noir wasn't just going to ignore that look. Something just happened, but he wasn't sure exactly what. The boy didn't seem hurt in any way, but something had to be wrong.

"Who do you have to find? Maybe i could help you find them?" Cat Noir asked, watching the boy carefully. "Two eyes are better than one after all, right?"

Hugo debated about it for a second before nodding. "I'm looking for my grandfather. He's a short man with a red Hawaiian shirt, and he's Chinese."

Cat noir couldn't help but think of all the faces he's seen both as Cat Noir and Adrien before settling for one man. He must be talking about his substitute chinese tutor. Mr. Wang Fu.

"I think I know who you're talking about, but I can't tell you where to find him," Cat says as he pats the boy's shoulder. "Where's your sister? Isn't she usually with you?"

Hugo seemed a little confused by that before remembering that so far, each time he's been around Ladybug and Cat Noir, it was with his sister.

"Oh she's asleep. We've been staying with my very good friend in the meantime."

"If you're looking for your grandfather, mind me asking what happened to your parents?" The blonde asked, tilting his head a little to the side.

Hugo shook his head no before saying, "they're not around. We were sent here by them because of their work. They told us our grandfather could help, but... we can't find him."

"You may not be able to find him, but I should be able to. My kitty senses are never wrong." He smiles at the boy before saying, "besides, I may already know who could find him. Ladybug sees him all the time to help us out on missions."

The idea of asking Ladybug crossed his mind, but he didn't know if it was a good idea or not. He just wanted to find the master as soon as possible. He could help them figure out a way to beat Lila and Hawkmoth.

"Cat Noir, I dont want to bug you, but I need you to believe me on this, okay?" Hugo met the boy's green eyes before taking a breath and releasing it. "I do need your help. My parents are in trouble, and if I don't find my grandfather soon, it may get bad for them. I need to save my parents as soon as possible."

"What kind of trouble are they in?" He asked, wondering if it was the trouble that needed heroes.

Hugo looked over at Cat before saying, "its a life or death situation. I'm not sure you would be able to help with that."

Cat noir looked at the boy, a little shocked at the gentle boy's words. He never thought that someone as sweet and kind as his friend would ever have something like this to deal with.

"Hugo, if you need any help, you can always ask us." Cat pats his shoulder, wanting the boy to tell him what was going on. "As heroes, Ladybug and I can help you."

Hugo looked away from him before saying, "listen, I cant wait any longer. If I do, I might forget everything that has to do with helping my parents."

He grabbed Cat Noir's wrist before dragging him into an empty building. As cat noir was about to question him,  Hugo shook his head no as to not question him.

"Cat Noir, I know everything about you. Please trust me on this. I'm not working for Hawkmoth or anything." Hugo took a breath before saying, "please Adrien. I can't do this on my own. I need your help."

Adrien immediately covered his mouth before shaking his head no. "Hugo, my name isn't Adrien. I think you're confusing me with someone else."

Hugo watched him silently as the cat ears dropped a bit on the blonde's head. With a sigh, Cat Noir looked around before saying, "plagg, claws in."

Adrien looked at his friend with a guilty look on his face before saying, "you are probably the first to figure out who I am."

"Thats because I've known you for my entire life," Hugo says, meeting Adrien's eyes. "Adrien, I think its time to tell you everything."

Adrien seemed to have a hunch as to what it was, but stayed silent to encourage his friend to speak. He didn't want to mention anything that Emma had already said to him.

"The truth is, Adrien, we aren't from here. My sister and I come from the future, a future in which Ladybug and Cat Noir are defeated..."
