"What do you mean that Ladybug and Cat Noir fail? We always get the job done," Adrien says as he shakes his head no. There was no way that they could ever fail. After all, he and Ladybug make an unstoppable team. "Hugo, what is really going on?"

The boy wasn't surprised one bit by the fact that Adrien didn't believe him. His expression didn't change as Adrien searched for some sign.

"Adrien, I wouldn't be here today if I wasn't being honest with you." He tells him again. "My parents were both very bad liars. So are we. I can promise you that I'm not lying."

Plagg looked over at Hugo, taking in his smell like a true cat before turning back to Adrien.

"I hate to break it to you, Adrien, but he does look like you. Minus the black hair." Hugo smiled at the kwami, knowing that this Plagg didn't know him. "Plagg! It's been a while!"

Plagg looked a little shocked before saying, "you knew about me? I guess you must have come with Fluff, right? Or maybe you spied on us and found out this way!"

"Fluff? Oh, right! Fluff the rabbit with Alix. No, I didn't come back with their help. Mom and dad told us that if anything were to ever happen to them, go see Mister Fu. He told us that we had to go back to a time before Ladybug and Cat Noir lose their miraculous to warn them that they need everyone's help."

As Hugo goes more in-depth as to what happened, Adrien and Plagg were both shocked and surprised at his words. Adrien was a little more surprised by the fact that he was married to Ladybug than the fact that Hugo and Emma were his kids with her.

"Adrien, Emma and I need help finding Mister Fu. We don't have a lot of time to fix the future. Hawkmoth can't win, and neither can Lila." Hugo couldn't help but look away now, a bit relieved someone really knew about their secret. "We couldn't tell you from the beginning because we didn't want to scare you. We needed to find the master first, but I'm afraid of forgetting."

"I'm sorry, Hugo, but I can't keep something like this from Ladybug. She needs to know about all this. And maybe then, we could come up with something to help future us," Adrien says as he makes up his mind. He needed to mention everything to her. Ladybug would get angry if he didn't say anything. "Ladybug is not only my partner, but she's a trusted friend. I won't help you without her."

Hugo nodded, looking more uncomfortable now than anything. "I don't know if it is a good idea to tell mom just yet. I mean, she wouldn't believe us right away..."

"Neither did I, but I'm choosing to believe you right now. If you knew who I was, then maybe you can convince her the same way."

Before Adrien could walk away from him, Hugo pulled on his sleeve the same way he would when he was younger. This stopped Adrien in his tracks and made him look over at him.

"Hugo, what's wrong?" He asked, wanting to know what was bothering his friend. It couldn't be telling Ladybug, right? After all, if what he said was true, then that would put him one step closer to his goal, right?

Hugo looked away from him for a second before saying, "can I tell her? I'm the only one out of all of you that actually know who you are without your masks on... And besides, you've always been near Ladybug. You just never noticed her before."

"What are you talking about?" Adrien asked. "Do I know Ladybug in our everyday life?"

Hugo nodded, letting him know the answer. "I can't tell you who she is though. She has to tell you on her own, and right now isn't time yet."

"I wouldn't ask you for her identity anyways. Ladybug trusts me, and I'm not going to go behind her back to figure out who she is." Adrien pats his friend's shoulder before saying, "as long as she knows what's going on, it should be fine. I'm here to help any way I can."

With that said, Hugo let go of his father before looking away. "You know, I always thought I had the coolest dad in the world. Now that I met you, I never expected to have my dad as a good friend. Thanks, Adrien. Really."

"I never expected to meet my future son in my teens. If this shocked me, wait til you tell Ladybug." Shaking his head no, he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. "Come on. We have a good hour or so before Mr. Fu goes to bed. Let's look together."

Hugo and Adrien searched together, walking around the streets of Paris without a care in the world. Together, the two continued to talk as they walked around before the two boys were interrupted by the lady in red herself.

Ladybug had seen the two walking around while on patrol and, of course, was curious as to why these two were out at such a late hour. With one look at Adrien, Ladybug knew that there would be no way his father would let him out at this time alone, especially with a friend he had yet to meet.

"Excuse me boys. Shouldn't you two be heading home?" Ladybug asked as she landed in front of them, a smile on her face. "You two should have school tomorrow. What's going on?"

Adrien gently pushed Hugo forward before saying, "don't worry about us, Ladybug. We're not planning on being out here for long, but my friend here has something he wants to tell you."

Hugo looked up at the girl who would one day be his mother and froze. He wasn't planning on telling her right away. He had a plan for this... Sort of. He just wanted to find some way to make it easy for her to accept.

"Um, I... Uh. Was just looking for..." Hugo looked around before spying a closed coffee shop. "Coffee!"

Ladybug couldn't help but giggle a little, knowing how the boy must feel right now. Its the same way she gets sometimes when she can't make up a lie or gets too flustered. To her, Hugo was just cute, not in the attractive kind of way, but his personality.

"Sorry, but looks like you came at a bad time. They're closed for the night, and you won't be able to rest if you had coffee now," she says, trying to calm the boy down.

Hugo frowned at what he considered his own stupid response before Adrien placed a hand on his shoulder. With one look, Adrien could see how hard it was for Hugo to admit everything now, and understood that right now, Hugo couldn't admit it to her.

"Thanks, Ladybug. We were just trying to find directions for it and we kind of got a little lost." Adrien says as he tries to back up Hugo's lie. "You see, the coffee wasn't for us. Someone we know asked about the closest coffee shop, and we just wanted to make sure we gave them the right directions."

Ladybug looked over them with a frown, knowing it was a lie, but for Hugo's sake, let it go.

"Alright. Just don't stay out too late," she says before pulling out her yo-yo. "Bug out!"

With that, she was gone just as fast as she came in.

From above the rooftops, Ladybug looked down at the two boys talking, staying in the shadows as to not be seen. She couldn't help but wonder the real reason why those two were out right now. Every member of her class, her friends, had been akumatised at one point or another, and all of a sudden Hugo enters their class.

In fact, he and his sister appeared the same night Master Fu told her about the possible chance of a forbidden miraculous being loose on the streets of Paris...

"This isn't a coincidence. There has to be a connection with Hugo and that miraculous. If we know about it, Hawkmoth might too." As she continued to stare at the boys, she couldn't help but give a call to her partner. "Cat Noir, call me back as soon as you get this. We need to talk."
