I'm shaking as I post this, this is terrifying me to post...
Sooo... as many of you know I was in a terrible car accident almost two years ago, I was 22, throughout that time I have been going to therapy after suffering from ptsd as well as major anxiety and depression. I recently told my therapist I started trying to write again and have actually posted a bit, but that a lot of it has been depressing or I don't feel motivated enough to finish it. After talking with me and trying to figure out more ways to help me, one of her solutions was for me to actually write about my experience, even if I don't make it public. Keeping that in mind, it's possible I might delete this one after a week or so depending on how comfortable I am with it. Bucky and Steve will be put in here in place of my friends that helped me through all of this, no real names will be used, but these are real events that took place in my life. Also, my mother is a retired police officer, I love her dearly, and her courage to protect people weather they like her or not, for thirty years. If I see anyone talking badly about law enforcement and first responders, you better believe I will chew you out, if you have nothing decent to say, keep it to yourself. My friends and I also love CATWS the most out of all the marvel movies, so we quote it a lot.
This is one of the biggest chapters in my life story.
Here it goes...
Warnings: car accident trigger, hospitalization, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, angst, therapy, real life punishments.
For once, the sound of a new alert from your phone so early in the morning was something good. Seeing Eric today was going to be great.
"Glad I finally get to see you again. What time are you leaving?"
You couldn't help but smile, you hadn't seen him in years. That old high school crush gave you such a youthful and giddy feeling inside. Seeing him again was something you had been meaning to do for awhile, and with talk about trying to go out, even with your busy schedules, was another thing to look forward to.
"Leaving now, so I'll be there in about ten minutes, see you then."
"Hey dad, I'm gonna go get breakfast with my friend. I'll probably be back in an hour or two." You told your father as he got ready to go out as well.
"Alright, let me and mom know when you get there."
"I will. Bye!" That was all you needed to say, a ten minute drive a little later in the morning. There was never that much traffic around that time anyway, it would be relaxing. Before pulling out of the driveway, your phone vibrated once again, causing you to smile.
"Can't wait to see you!"
Without replying, you turned your phone on silent, not only because you didn't want the distraction, but also because you didn't want your songs interrupted.
I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read...There were only green lights, light traffic, the only issue was the sun. You'd only been driving for about six months now, since there wasn't much traffic, it wouldn't be a bad time to use the sun visor for the first time. After all, you were only a couple minutes away from your destination, the light was yellow before the sun visor blocked it, but life can change in the blink of an eye.
If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape
I'm the love that you've looked for, write to me, and escape...
