JIMIN found himself snatching his phone from his desk every time that familiar ding of the phone. his focus was once more thrown off balance, his mind buzzing after than what he could keep up. he spent more time spacing out than reading the numbers on the screen that moved and danced without reason. his head was spinning but his body was still like a statue.

so after getting scolded by one of the higher ups, he pushed himself off that mind set. snapping himself back into shape and he pushed aside all thoughts of namjoon. he worked much harder than he did before. yet his time at work zipped by so... slowly.

one of the elder coworkers of his tapped his shoulder out of the blue.

"jimin, didn't your shift end half an hour ago? you better get home soon, it's supposed to be pouring and driving in the rain isn't very safe." mr. kim said with a kind smile. jimin smiled back tiredly, turning to look at his phone. the man was right, so jimin thanked him politely with a gentle bow. he turned around and picked his things up, placing some files and his phone in his satchel. he cleaned everything up, preparing them for another day.

jimin walked out the giant building, whose windows caught the rays of the last bit of sun, clouds eating the sky like friday's evening pizza. he could feel it, he could feel the humidity that stuck to his skin along with the heat. he could smell the rain and he could smell the engines of the cars that moved past him. jimin held his satchel close to his body and made his way to the lot. he grabbed his keys, pressing a button that made the car unlocked with a 'beep beep.'

jimin got in, putting his satchel on the passenger seat, buckling himself in with a gentle click. he placed both his hands on the wheel. he smiled softly to himself, looking into the rear view mirror. he turned on the engine, carefully making his way out the lot and into the busy streets.

by the time he got home the rain was just starting to fall, gentle tears of the sky, the concrete was just simply speckled with dark spots of water. he stayed outside for a good minute, letting the rain roll down his cheeks and get caught in his hair or clothing. he reached for the sky, letting out a sigh. he remembers, not so long ago. just a couple months ago when namjoon talked to him and the rain was falling. not quite like this. jimin dropped to the ground.

he held out his hands, " this is so strangely relaxing." he muttered to himself. soon enough there was a flash of lightening and then a crack of thunder that nearly scared him out his wits.

he ran to the front door and unlocked it, throwing himself in and dropping his satchel. he closed the door behind him, locking it before walking to his room. he changed out his clothes and dressed in fresh new ones.
