It was a few days later which meant it was Friday.
School was done for the week but Maya hadn't seen anything yet.
She got a message from Riley saying that her grandparents will insist on a lot of stuff.
But what she didn't know.
Maya got out of school and saw Josh.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" Maya asks.
"My parents want to talk to us tonight. Do you have time?" Josh asks.
"That depends. How late does your parents want to see me?" Maya asks.
"Six."
"Send me the address. I'll go," Maya said.
"How was school?" Josh said as they walked.

Maya knew he would insist so she didn't say anything.
Josh was wondering a lot about here these past few days.
Even more cause she was wearing her ring to school.
Which wasn't a good idea according to him.

"Like I thought it would be. Half wondered about the ring and the other half gossiped. A part said I'm doing it for the money and the other half just said that I was cold hearted," Maya said.
"I am so sorry," Josh said and Maya shook her head.
"It's not your fault. I promise you," Maya said.

They stopped in front of the house and Maya went in.
She knew she had to put her biggest foot first.
The Matthews had class which she didn't have.
But she knew that she would get everyone impressed tonight.
She made coffee and as soon as she was done she went to the shower.
She washed her body and hair.
She then blow dried her hair and went to her closet.
She chose the next outfit and shoes 👇

She then took a brush and brushed her hair

She then took a brush and brushed her hair.
She curled it a bit and put on some make-up.
She grabs her bag and heads out the door.
She is very nerves but she'll survive.

She goes to the address and ask the waiter for the table what Josh asked her to.
Josh looked at her.
Casual in her own way but also classy.
That was for sure.

"Hi Maya. Thanks for joining us," Allan said.

Josh stood up and pulled Maya's chair out.

"Thank you," Maya said.
"We are pleased to see that you have agreed to our son's proposal," Amy said.
"Let me just make on thing straight. She isn't doing this for herself. She's doing it for whatever reason you guys are forcing Shawn and Katy," Josh said.
"Josh," Maya said and he knew he had gone too far.
"Sorry."

"What did you want to discuss with me?" Maya asked.
"Just a few things. We were wondering what your plans were for the business," Allan said.
"Not this," Josh said and stood up.

Maya stood up with him and his parents looked at him.

"I know what your plans are. You want to make sure you are on the same page. That she does it your way," Josh said.
"You are nothing better than my father. His way or the highway. Well I'm sorry but I'm not the kind of girl who does everything her parents in law tells her. To my husband I'll still listen but there is people I won't listen to and sounds like that is you."
"Who do you think you are?" Allan asked as he stood up.

He was red in his face and Amy also.
Josh pulled Maya behind him with the intention of protecting her.

"Dare to touch her and there's trouble. Let's go Maya," Josh said and they were off.

"I am so sorry," Josh told Maya when they were outside the restaurant.
"It's okay," Maya said.
"What about we go eat somewhere else?" Josh ask.
"Yeah," Maya said.
"Give me your keys."

Maya knew what he wanted to do so she did as she was told.
He opened the door and she climbed in.
Then they went to a place not too far from the fancy place where Josh's parents were.
