In silence, they crept along the brightly lit corridors, Toxic's eyes staying on his screen, trying to lock a reading on Technovore.

"The weapon is held in my father's trophy gallery."
Galaxy Girl reminded them again, as though they’d have forgotten that piece of solid information.
"It's up ahead."
The power cell, like all other energy or radiation powered devices, was stored in a place code named The Red Room'. Their plan was to get the ray and then grab the cell as quickly as possible, as time was of essence in their mission. After passing through several more numbered doors, they got to the trophy room’s door.

"This is it." She said, pressing her thumb to the pad.
It beeped and instead of clearing an orange 'ERROR TRY AGAIN' appeared on the screen.
"Hold on."
Toxic winced as he fiddles with his handheld. Adjusting the settings.
The door argued a bit before he was able to force it open.
The lights were dim, on power saving mode, and if he tried to fix it, he just might wake up the humanoid computer who was asleep upstairs. But even in the dim light, it was impossible not to recognize the large collection of Mastermind's greatest weapons and inventions.
Death rays and various "inators" lined the walls and filled the room, displayed ever so beautifully.
Toxic thought that if The Captain did the placing himself, he should really look into a career in interior decorating if that hero gig ever dried up.

Toxic was about to step inside when Informal held up a hand.
"Wait." He stopped Toxic, and reaching into one of his many utility belts, he pulled out a silver spray can, and sprayed a white mist into the space ahead to reveal that the whole room was alive with motion detecting lasers; blue beams that sliced through the air in an apparently random fashion; lighting up the dim room with a glow of electric blue.

"The two of you have this one, yes?" The bubbly thief asks.
"Wait?!?" Galaxy Girl panicked.
"Where do you think you're going?!" She crossed her arms sternly.
"To the Red Room Cherri, to retrieve the power cell." Informal grins as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "You know, the impenetrable stronghold of a thousand locks?" He looked like a kid about to break into a candy store.

"But... I...We..." Galaxy argues but Informal was already bounding away. "Fine." She grumbled.
"But no stealing anything other than what I need!" The blond warned.
"That’s an order I never thought I’d hear you bark." Teased Toxic once the other villain was out of earshot.
"Look at you, about to commit a class B felony. If my career did not depend on you being the straight, I’d actually be proud."

"I am not stealing, and this IS NOT grand larceny." She argues.
"You can't break into your own place, and you can't steal what you already have the right to use."
She placed her hands on her hips, defending her actions valiantly.
"Code 52 states that all Peace League members can use utilize any of confiscated equipment in the event of an emergency."

"God Star, the lengths you can go to and the loopholes you can find to justify your actions is truly amazing. No wonder I could never read your guilt before. Please don't ever go into politics."
He shook his head.
