That's right - I, Jacob Black, am applying for universities. The wonder of the wonders!

Had anyone asked me a couple of years ago to continue my education after high school, I would have refused. I wasn't ready until now.

Kayla is thinking about applying to distance education. She wants to travel around the world and do odd jobs here and there. I think it's a great idea and support her decision.

Me? What about me? I have decided to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Sounds captivating to me and I believe in myself enough to handle the responsibility to study at University. I've heard that it's difficult and it requires a lot of hard work. But it's the best year of your life.

Kayla smiles at me, looking up from her laptop, where she is filling the forms. I grin back at her and go back to filling mine.

Life can be so unpredictable. One minute you feel like a failure and the next you're literally on top of the world.

I'm ready for the future. And I think so is Kayla. And everyone around us.
