I hear a washing noise. The sound of running water, as if it's right in my ear. But all I see is black, like I'm in some weird dream. I feel droplets of cold popping on random places on my face.

My eyes shoot open, a gray sky above me. Rain falls, not hard, but not softly. For a moment it feels like I'm floating. I don't feel anything as I come to, as if my brain is giving me peace for a moment. But then it hits me. My entire body feels sore, like I had gone through a tornado and it just threw me here. I blink my eyes a few times, before finally registering that I'm laying in shallow water. I feel sand beneath me, stuck to my skin and clinging to my blue dress. I sit up, my hands shaking as my body aches. Where the hell am I?

I look around, thunder sounds off loudly. I'm on a shore, a beach. Behind me a large wall of trees, palm trees and others. And then I see him.

Bruce.

"Bruce?" I call out worriedly, my voice shakes. I push myself up from the ground, stumbling toward him. My feet sink into the wet sand as I trip, falling to my knees beside him. All that's left is the ripped bottoms from his suit. All that survived. I grab his hand, tightly squeezing it as I move him slightly. I try to wake him. "Bruce? Bruce can you hear me?" I plead worriedly. His eyes shoot open and he sits up quickly, his eyes flashing green. He gasps for air.

"Shhh, shhh it's just me! It's just me." I try to console him, grabbing his face softly as I try to calm him down. His eyes meet mine and he catches his breath for a moment, breathing heavily. He realizes it's me, the green fades from his eyes. I just startled him.

"Fuck, what—what happened? Where are we? Oh my God, your face." He swallows thickly, moving towards me. He runs his fingers over the wounds and bruises that cover my face. He shakes his head, "I must've brought us here when I was...changed. I can't remember, I can hardly remember anything. I don't understand how we got here." He looks around, still holding onto me tightly. I shake my head, "I don't know. I can't remember. I blacked out. I remember being next to an explosion, it knocked me into the water. You got me out. It's all a blur from there. I hope someone got Grant." I say worriedly, learning back and taking a deep breath. I tilt my head up towards the rain as it falls, we're both soaked.

"Maybe we should move in toward the trees. It's probably safer there, drier." Bruce suggest as he slowly gets up, finding his balance again. He grabs onto me, pulling me up. He wraps and arm around my waist, another hand rests on my cheek. He traces his thumb over a cut on my lip.

"God what did he do to you? It—it infuriates me. I can see flashes of...of it now, I—." Bruce growls as he begins to remember what had happened. His breathing begins to quicken again. I shake my head, "No, it's over now. It's over. I'm sure he's taken care of. Just, stay calm. Okay?" I remind him, looking into his eyes deeply.

"I just should've done a better job at protecting you." He shakes his head, moving the hair away from my face. Rainwater runs down the skin on my face. The rain begins to pour now. "I'm alive aren't I? You did protect me. We both protected me." I giggle slightly, leaning into him. I rest my forehead against his. He lets out a deep breath, trying to stay calm. We both close our eyes, relaxing into each other. I swallow thickly, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I'm just glad you're okay." Bruce let's out a small chuckle as I say this, pulling me into him tighter. "You're crazy. Of course I'm okay." He kisses my forehead before pulling me along with him. We head toward the trees.

I stand outside the large cell, looking at him through the glass. He sits down on a bench inside, the bright light shining down on him blindingly. The walls inside are white, the brightness doesn't affect him. He sits calmly, watching me. His skin is still covered in blood.
