This is a small little rant for writers who constantly get stuck when they're writing. This can also be to inform non writers why your favorite writers have such a hard time.
I think I finally understand a few reasons why we get stuck when we write.
Well for one,as a writer you're pretty much in control of what happens in your story all the time.
That shit is so scary😭.
It's scary because for me,my brain goes 1000 miles per hours everyday,so I have a lot of different thoughts and feelings throughout the day,making it harder for me to actually express myself because there's often some crazy shit going on in my head. With all this crazy shit going on,there's a possibility that I'll potentially mess up because of how I'm feeling at that moment.
I guess as a person,I'm not used to being in control of anything that happens,so when I finally am in literal control of a characters words,emotions,and actions,it makes me extremely anxious that I'll do something wrong.
As a writer,I've realized I am god in a way,because I have complete control of where the story goes. In all honesty it's hard asf being god💀💀.
Secondly,these characters piss us off.
Writers be just as mad as the readers when the characters do dumb shit.
It's even worse for us because we made them do it🤦🏾♀️💀💀💀💀.
Like y'all don't even know🙄😭it's so hard to update a book when you're mad at the characters for what they do.
Like for example,I was mad as hell at Noah for what happened with Angel🤦🏾♀️😭I was literally mad at the nigga for a wholeeeeeee ass week. I wasn't as mad at Jhene,because of her emotional state,but I'm still disappointed asf🤦🏾♀️
I get mad at Genesis every time her lil head ass says something out of pocket to Windy.
And chile Demon made me mad as fuck throughout the whole story just for being himself🤦🏾♀️💀.
It's almost impossible to continue a story (for me) when I'm not in a good mood with the characters.
Thirdly,readers be pressuring us to update🤦🏾♀️.
Like sure,it's good to see that people are taking an interest in what I write,but damn sis,gimme a minute. It's not like I can just make a whole chapter appear in 2 seconds🙄😭Like can a nigga get some days to process what's gonna happen next.
Truthfully,I got no problem with readers asking me about updating but don't be doing all that right after a nigga just updated🤦🏾♀️ gimme some time sis,you can't rush greatness.
Pressure from readers can throw the writer entirely off track,because not only is making sure that the story is going in the right place a big part of it,but so is editing and shit,so when a writer is being pressured,they'll think "Lemme just put this unedited shit out so they'll stfu"💀💀💀. Or,the writers whole mood gets ruined and they just sort of stop halfway. Literally,I've seen it happen before...
Like I said,i personally don't mind,especially if it's somebody that I recognize for constantly voting & commenting🤷🏾♀️(if it's just a random ass person who never votes or comments,you'll probably get cussed out💀) . Hell,I like to see you mfs beg sometimes...
