Ego, Pride.

3rd pov

Jungkook open his eyes. His room is bright, its morning already. He didnt even know what time he feel asleep after all those toss and turn. He is still in his office attire. His right hand wonders around the right side of the bed, only to find that its empty. He opens his eyes and look to his right.

It's Taehyung's side of the bed. Every time he opens his eyes, Taehyung's sleeping face is the first thing he sees. He never tells Taehyung but every time he wakes up before he takes a shower, he would take a moment to appreciate his husband's sleeping face. He would gaze and gaze and still be amaze by how beautiful he is.

But now his side is empty, and that beautiful sleeping face is nowhere to be seen. Jungkook put his hand to his chest, right where his heart is and close his eyes. Trying to visualise Taehyung, sleeping right by his side. He caress Taehyung cheek in his mind, he caress it softly, then to his lips.

When's the last time i kiss this lips..

His heart ache. This pain in his heart is a nostalgic feeling. He hasn't feel this pain in a long time but he refuse to acknowledge it. He doesn't want to admit it. He opens his eyes, the vision of Taehyung sleeping vanished. Jungkook calm himself.

He decided to take a shower and went to the kitchen to cook for breakfast. He made egg fried rice with kimchi for breakfast. He takes a sit and start to dig in, but somehow the fried rice doesn't taste right. Somehow its not as tasty and delicious. He only ate half and then he is done. He lost his appetite.

He's been sneezing and feeling chilly sonce this morning so decided to drink some vitamin c and went to his office to work on his presentation. He need to impress M company with his presentation to secure his next project. Despite seeing Taehyung in the corner of his eyes, he still manages to stay focus and finished it.

He takes out a deep breath. His head hurt. Finally he takes his phone and scroll through. No messages from Taehyung, nothing. Taehyung is being radio silent and he doesn't even know where Taehyung is staying right now.

Maybe he went back to his parents house.

Then his phone rings, it's a call from Taehyung's father. Jungkook gulp before answering. "Hello? Ne appa?" Jungkook tries to sound as normal as possible to hide his nervousness. "Jungkook-ah, how are you son?" Taehyung's father sound just as usual. He doesnt sound mad or weird. "Ne appa, im doing fine. How are you? How's your knee?" Jungkook asked. "Its fine now, you know, sometimes it come and it goes. Actually there's something i want to ask you" then he sounded serious. Jungkook began to feel a bit scared.

What if Taehyung told him that they fought? That he wants a divorce? Is he calling me to talk about it?

Lots of thought come to his minds, but he tries to be positive. "Your presentation with M company is on Monday right? How's the preparation going?" His father-in-law ask in concerned. He know what just how much Jungkook wants to secure his next project so he is a bit concerned.

Jungkook exhale in relieve. "I just finished my slides.  Just need some final touch up and proof read and we're good to go" Jungkook confidently answer him. Taehyung's father know how much of a perfectionist Jungkook is.

"I have complete faith in you. Once you got that project, lets celebrate." He says. "Also bring Taehyung home next week. Its Omma's birthday" he added. Jungkook is surprise. If he asked him to bring Taehyung, it means that Taehyung is not with them. So if he'a not with them then where the hell is he?

"Okay, sure Appa, we'll be there" Jungkook tells him and afterwards their calls ended. Jungkook is left confuse. Where is Taehyung? His other stuff is still here which mean wherever he goes must have his other things otherwise he would've come back for his other stuff. Jungkook really thinks that Taehyung went back to his parents house.

His stomach hurt and so does his head. He doesnt feel well since yesterday and today it seems like he caught a flu. It looks like nothing went well for Jungkook since Taehyung left.

Jungkook wants to call Taehyung but he somewhat feel hesitant. He thinks for a moment then he put down his phone. Everytime he and Taehyung fought, Taehyung was always the one who talks to him first. He would apologise and they would made up.

Thinking that this time is no different, he stop himself from calling Taehyung.

Come on Tae, isnt it about time you give up and come back to me?
