Can Divit was a man with all the answers. All of the answers. He believed that knowing all the answers meant he was prepared. Prepared for good fortunes, and prepared for the bad ones which he always saw coming. Except for one. He never saw Sanem Aydin coming...
For a man who always crosschecked all of his options in life, he did not even know where to begin with Sanem. All he knew of her was that she was a new employee. A new hire, from the bottom of the ladder. Aside from that, she was a complete enigma. What he knew of her character was that she proved to be a hardworker. She took her job seriously. And she preferred tea over coffee. And that was that... No more, no less...
But now he knew another, perhaps most vital piece of her puzzle. She was the woman he kissed in the darkness. How was that possible? He hadn't the slightest idea how to figure that one out. And the fact that she did not know that his were the lips she kissed that night also added to the mystery. Was she waiting there for someone? Did she get lost? More and more questions were beginning to fill up his mind. It felt like more than simple curiosity. And he was beginning to feel that he spent entirely too much time with her on his mind. No sooner did he think that, he found her engagement ring in his brother's jacket. And she offered him the strangest of explanations. One which left him baffled even more.
The ring he retrieved from his brother's pocket was a ring he would not soon forget. It left him questionning Sanem even more. Why had she kept secret the fact that she was engaged? Why had she kept the ring off her finger? And why did she seem so distraut when he retrieved it from Emre's pocket? As if she got scared? But did she get scared of the ring? Or of the fact that he was visibly moved by what he found? And he finally caught himself admitting what he felt at that moment. Why did he get so emotionally moved when he saw that little red box? They only just met. As a matter of fact, she did not even seem interested in him. Nor he in her. Or so he thought...
Seeing Emre arrive, Can was eager to find answers to the questions that arose in his mind. But instead Emre's replies made him feel even worse. And he had a valid point. Why did he trust her in the agency, but not outside of it? After all, he was the one who told Emre to trust her. But he failed his own advise. Revisiting that question meant that he was faced with a decision to trust Sanem. One way or another, she was the one whom he decided to trust at the agency, so he would need to trust her accross all aspects of life. He was sure that in doing so, he would come up with even more questions about Sanem. And he was right.
Emre asked one more question. One he wished Emre hadn't asked, because it made him recall that odd pang in his gut when he saw the ring in that little red box. Emre asked him if it bothered him that Sanem was engaged. Though he felt angry at his brother for even thinking that question, he couldn't figure out why he was right. What was it about Sanem that moved him? What was it about the thought of her being engaged that upset him? And why did it?
For a man with all the answers, he realized he had none when it came to Sanem. Being the man that he was, he felt obligated to find answers to those questions. Little did he know that in searching for those answers he would find something that he never expected. He found love....
