Chapter 9: Their Sour Lemons

That Saturday morning both sets of grandparents were standing in Sydney's driveway. Bucky was securing Kanon's car seat in her backseat. He was leaving his truck with his dad.

Winnie and James met him there with Kanon since he had to close the night before. "Are you sure this is a good idea for you two?" Lyla said

"Yes mom. We are going to be fine its just one night in a hotel room." Sydney said

"James honey.." Winnie said

"Mom I'll be fine." He said

He put Kanon in his car seat and got him buckled and secured. He gave him his blanket and sippy cup. He put the rest of his bags in the trunk as Sydney got Kaisley in the car.

They hugged and kissed their parents goodbye. Bucky got in the driver side as Sydney got in. They stopped and got gas then headed to Athens.

They got to their hotel and checked in. Once Bucky got everything loaded on to the luggage cart. They went to their room with the bell hop pushing the cart.

They unloaded everything in their room. Bucky set up Kanon's play pen they ate their Wendys that they got before reaching the hotel. Once they finished their lunch they got the kids down for a nap.

Bucky cracked the balcony door a little. He wrapped his arms around her "Baby its a little chilly what are you doing out here." He whispered.

"Its a beautiful campus Buck." She said

"It is baby." He said as he saw their view was the UGA campus.

"Buck baby how did you end up with Kanon. I mean like the full story who hurt you before Ella." She said as she turned around.

He looked down then he pulled her into his lap as they sat at the table. "Let me tell you my story baby okay."

She shook her head yes.

"I lost my virginity at 14 to my best friend Natasha. Who you will meet tonight she use to be very shy. Our parents were friends and worked alot so we were left home alone alot. One night she let me kiss her I had already been kissing girls since I was 12. I loved the kissing games at parties. Things escalated to fast and we had sex. But I knew and she knew that we didnt like each other like that. So it was a one time thing. A year later I met the new girl at school Frankie Miller the beautiful blue eyed blonde with dimples for days. I asked her to spring formal the 8th grade end of the year dance. She said yes we started to date after that. I fell in love I took her virginity on our six month anniversary and said I love you. She said it back. On our one year anniversary I had bought a promise ring to give her. I couldnt find her be fore first period. We had study hall together I found her in the athelete hallway kissing Tucker Fowler my co captain of the baseball team. I whispered her name and she seen me. I lost it I ripped up our pictures took my hoodies back and walked out. I swore to myself after that day I would never fall in love again..so I started to sleep around and that continued through college." He said

"Baby.." she said

"Then I met Ella who was just like Frankie. But with Ella it was just suppose to be a one night thing. But my condom broke and her birth control failed. I wanted to do the right thing by staying. I was the only one falling again. Im an idiot that keeps buying rings and not seeing that the girl no longer loves me. I used what I got back from her engagement ring to protect my son. Kanon was an accident but I love him even if he drives me crazy at times." He said

"Baby you are not an idiot. You were in love we all do crazy things when we are in love.' She said

"Baby..your turn. Even though Saylor has already done a summarize verison of your story." He said
