Stuff Happens (Sesshomaru X OC)

Chapter Fourteen

~Akane~

The barrier was still a pain even though we found an weaker point to enter from, even this weak spot grew stronger the closer we go to the mountain, we crossed a bridge before we were stopped by a very effeminate guy, Sesshomaru drew Tokijin while i went to stand in front of Rin ready to protect her as i watched what would unfold next

"I assume you're one of Naraku's followers"Sesshomaru said, this was the worst timing though, i knew Sesshomaru wasn't at full strength because of the barrier "How very perspective of you" the guy said "Just like that poison user you reek of a dead mortal"Sesshomaru said "My what a keen sense of smell, just what i'd expect from Inuyasha's older brother"the guy said attacking Sesshomaru with a sword that seemed to move like a snake.

Sesshomaru easily deflected the sword before closing in and striking the ground as the guy had dodged "Silly mortal"Jaken laughed "Spear yourself the suffering and let him slay you quickly!" he called and the guy attacked using that snake sword of his, though i deflected it with my sword and glared at Jaken, he screamed totally scared and hid behind Rin "I'll shut up"he said.

Sesshomaru came up behind the guy "Jaken!"he called "Right"Jaken said taking Rin and running off with her, i joined Sesshomaru in front of the bridge watching the guy "So you don't want the little girl to get in harms way well aren't you just the kindest thing around"he said "Ha you talk a great deal for a dead mortal"Sesshomaru said "I'm getting tired of you harping on me about being dead!"the guy yelled.

"Oh never mind, with the girl gone at least you'll be able to concentrate on our battle, come on lets do it"the guy said attacking again with that weird sword of his Sesshomaru and i jumped dodging out of the way, i suddenly grew a bad feeling and turned before running back across the bridge

~Sesshomaru~

"It's not wise to turn your back on an enemy!"the guy said attacking Akane with his sword i deflected it though, i wonder why she ran off though, then it hit me, Rin must be in danger, i'll leave that to Akane, right now i have this fight to focus on.

~Third~

Rin and Jaken had made it to halfway across the bridge when Suikotsu appeared and started attacking them, Jaken fought back determined to protect Rin in fear of what Akane or Sesshomaru would do to him if he didn't, Jaken used the staff of two head burning the bridge and it started to collapse.

A little ways behind Akane felt the bridge sway and took to the air going as fast as she could, further ahead Suikotsu wasn't done yet as he was hanging below the bridge just as he was getting up the bridge collapsed "Rin!"Akane called but was too late as the girl went missing into the mist.

~Sesshomaru~

I heard Rin's scream, the fight didn't matter anymore but Naraku's underling didn't seem to think so as he attacked me yet again, i dodged and got Tokijin out of the mountain wall, the snake sword somehow moved around me as if to ensnare me i deflected it and flung it back at him before going down the ravine.

At the bottom there was a river, Rin must of been carried down stream, the water had washed away her scent, i could hear crying up ahead though and walked over to see Akane was the one crying, she turned hearing my approach, her eyes even redder and puffy from crying "Sesshomaru, i missed her again, i'm the worst, you must hate me"she said.

I knelt next to her and pulled her closer laying her head on my chest and stroking her hair, this always calmed her down in the past and it seemed to be doing the trick again "You're not the worst, this isn't your fault"i told her "So you don't hate me?"she asked "I could never hate you, come on, this mountain is dulling my senses, we'll find her scent again once we're further away"i said.

~Akane~

I nodded and stood up rubbing my eyes clear of left over tears, Sesshomaru stood up as well and grabbed my hand before we walked out of this cursed mountain "Wait for me my lord!"of course with Jaken following behind us.

~skip~

The scent of death lead us back towards the stronger part of the barrier, it didn't stop Sesshomaru and i from going on ahead even if this was a trap, those bastards were just using the barrier to hide like cowards, outside of the mountains pure aura they would never stand a chance though.

Anyway we found the two responsible for taking Rin and they were still holding her "Lord Sesshomaru, Akane you've come"Rin said immediately smiling, honestly i was so angry at these two dead men that i could have transformed unless Sesshomaru hadn't taught me to control it better.

"He cut us off"one of them said "Damn wrench you're both demons yet the barrier isn't affecting you"the effeminate man from before said, Sesshomaru drew Tokijin as i drew my sword "Then maybe this will!"the guy we had before yelled attacking with his snake sword, we both dodged all his strikes though, except the last one which Sesshomaru had deflected but the sword had cut him in return.

I left this fight with Sesshomaru and went over to the other guy who was still holding Rin, he smirked putting one of those gloves with claws on them at Rin's throat "One step closer and she's a goner"he said, i growled a bit and glanced over to see how Sesshomaru was doing in his fight.

Sesshomaru was clearly winning despite the barrier "Hey Suikotsu make sure you don't move away from the mountain"the guy he was fighting called, i looked at the guy i was facing "I don't need to be reminded Jukotsu, you just focus on your end and get rid of the menace, once he's gone i'll deal with the woman make it fast cause i'm just itching to slaughter this little brat"he said.

I glared stepping closer to him but he put his claw blades closer to Rin's neck drawing blood, i growled at him and a bit at myself, i couldn't do anything in this situation except make sure this guy didn't run off with Rin even further into the mountain where the barrier would be impossible to pass.

~Third~

"Help me Akane, lord Sesshomaru"Rin whispered "Don't do anything funny, one wrong move from either of you and the kid is dead got that?"Jukotsu asked, "It's funny it's only a matter of time now"he said "Is that what you think?"Sesshomaru asked before Jukotsu attacked again, Sesshomaru threw Tokijin back striking Suikotsu freeing Akane to move in, she dealt him a blow that would kill any ordinary man or even a lower demon after retrieving Rin.

While Sesshomaru voluntarily got himself cut with Jukotsu's snake sword as he moved in close and pierced Jukotsu with his hand, the bandits weren't done yet though thanks to their shards of the shikon jewel.

"That's it i'm getting that girl back and killing her right away"Suikotsu said, Akane glared at him readying her sword as Rin hid further behind her, Sesshomaru looked over his shoulder watching as Suikotsu went to attack Akane but before he could an arrow shot into his neck, an arrow fired by Kikyo, Suikotsu fell and Jukotsu ran as Kikyo walked over to the former.

~Akane~

I watched as the priestess talked with the guy i had been fighting, but before she could take the shard the snake sword snatched it up, the guy Sesshomaru had been fighting took the shard before running off like the coward he was.

The man turned back into a pile of bones and Sesshomaru walked off, i was more then glad to follow and get far away from this mountain "Goodbye!"i heard Rin call to the priestess before she followed.

Sesshomaru stopped though looking back to the priestess, i mean sure she smelled of death and graveyard bones like those others but there seemed to be something else on his mind, "Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin asked "We must leave Rin"he said and continued walking "Coming"Rin said following again, i walked next to him "Something interesting about that priestess?"i asked "She was the one who sealed Inuyasha, nothing more"he said, i just hummed dropping it, for now.
