Chapter 17:
>Aren't doctors supposed to save people?<

"Why didn't you run?" Minho asked Thomas."I'm tired of running," he said bluntly, breathing heavily.
"Remind me again how you got out of the maze," mumbled Darcy. But no reply or snicker came as no one heard her.
A berg was flying overhead, preparing to land. It sent dirt everywhere, resulting in many people coughing and covering their faces to protect their eyes. When it landed, a hatch opened. Surrounded by guards, stood Ava Paige. She walked out behind them, protected-- especially by the large guns they were holding. She was clearly visible amongst them, as she wore all white whilst everyone else was in all black. The woman stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Is this all of them?" she asked when she reached Janson.
"Most of them," replied Janson. "It'll be enough."
"Start loading them in."
"Okay, you heard! Let's go, get 'em on!" shouted Janson to all the guards.
The guards began to lift up all the people in a line on the ground, and began pushing then forward into the berg. This was it, they were going back to W.I.C.K.E.D.
Thomas was brought up to Ava. "Hello, Thomas," she said.
And then Teresa walked over to her. In the past moments of panic, Darcy forgot all about her. She wasn't close with Teresa, but the betrayal still hurt. If she was evil, how could she tell that the others weren't?
"I'm glad you're safe," Ava said to her.
"What the hell? Teresa?" said Fry. The betrayal was evident in his voice.
"Wait, what's going on?" asked Newt.
"She's a two-faced, evil--"
Ava raised her eyebrows at her before Thomas cut Darcy off. "She's with them." He sounded heartbroken.
"Since when?" demanded Minho.
"Oh, Teresa has always had an evolved appreciation for the greater good. So we restored her memories. It was only a matter of time," answered Janson as he walked over to the group.
"I'm sorry," said Teresa, looking at everyone in turn. When she reached Darcy, she received a glare. "I had no choice, this is the only way. We have to find a cure."
"She's right," said Ava, "this is all just a means to an end. You used to understand that, Thomas. No matter what you think of me, I'm not a monster, I'm a doctor. I swore an oath to find a cure. No matter the cost."
"Well, I'm making an oath to get as far away from you as I can," said Darcy. "No matter the cost. Goodbye."
Before she could even take a step, a guard stood behind her, pointing a gun in her face.
"Darcy--"
"Don't worry, ma'am, this one's always been trouble. I say we shoot her now. She hasn't been good for much anyway. We could afford to lose her," said Janson.
