Chapter 5: First Encounter & Town

-Open Plains-

As I walk along the road hoping to reach a town soon I happen to hear a bunch of fighting going on. I am thinking of a way to find out where it was coming from so I use the power I have to heighten my hearing and I find where its coming from. As I start to limit my strength I put what's left into my legs and start running toward the noise. When I get into view of what was happening I see 6 trolls fighting a group of wealthy looking merchants.

[what why cant I understand them?]: Riku

I put magic power into language and now I can understand them. I see 1 merchant hiding inside of the carriage yelling out to the ones who look like they are not in the shape to fight.

[you stupid slaves!. Hurry and go give your lives to save me from the monsters!. If I die you will feel a painful death anyway!.]: Merchant

[oh no I hate people like this even in the manga that I use to read. Do I really have to save him?]: Riku

As I say this to myself I am also thinking of a way to at least save these slaves it seems that there are 5 slaves in total and to make up there genders and race its 2 beast-man male slaves 1 demon-kin male slave and 2 human girls.

[well even if I don't like what I see about this merchant I will still save him. I would like to be the hero in this story]: Riku

[fight it you worthless slaves! save my fate of death and I will feed you a slice of bread!. If you save me I will also give you some water!.]: Merchant

Wow I never thought I would hear how much the merchant would give to save his own life and its so cheap. I hate him even more but I will still help him. As I get to the fight I snap my fingers and will the power to destroy the 6 trolls. After the trolls are dead on the ground the merchant came out of the carriage he looks around and sees that he and the slaves are ok and looks my way.

[thank you you saved my life, unlike these worthless slaves. How can I repay you, as you can see I am very wealthy.]: Merchant

[well if you would really like to repay me I would like to take all 5 of your slaves as a compensation. Are you fine with that?]: Riku

[well even if you saved me and my goods from utter destruction I can really give you highly saleable merchandise. Is there anything else? Like magic scrolls or food or clothing?]: Merchant

As I thought he does not want to give away these slaves to me if he can avoid it. And to do so he's bringing up other things that wont ruin his business.

[well if you don't want to give me the slaves as compensation I can bring these trolls back and have them only target you if you like]: Riku

[haa- your bluffing only a necromancer can do that and the looks of you does not say necromancer because your still alive. All necromancers are elder liches, undead, skeletons. So take my offer and piss off before I retract my thanks]: Merchant

This fool thinks that I can't still kill him even if I couldn't raise the dead what a snob time to show him who's boss.

[well if you insist]: Riku

[now that's a smart boy. Now what would you like clothing, food or scrolls?]: Merchant

[huh?]: Merchant

FINGER SNAP!

As the trolls are all rising from where they were dead a minute ago the face that the merchant had me give out a little bit of a laugh. I hope this doesn't turn me into a crazy killing machine.

[huh-- haaaa. Please stop i'll give you what you want anything. The slaves there yours just please don't kill me]: Merchant

[kukuku- you had your chance now die like the pig you are]: Riku

As I watch the trolls start to kill him he leaves out a remark that I will make him regret.

[haha- once I die those slave will die to because of the contract now you wont have them-kukuku]: Merchant

[wha- impossible--]: Merchant

As thats my first kill it kind of feels weird that i'm able to watch it. So I am crazy then huh.

[my name is Riku Akiyama but you can call me Riku. so what are your guys names do you even have names?]: Riku

[as slaves we don't have names and will not receive a name until we are sold and a new master gives us a new name]: slave girl

[well that's unfortunate so i will give you all a name and set you free with some money to do what you like after we get to town so please follow me]: Riku

As we get to the first town there's a long line in front of the entrance gate when we get to the guard he ask for my ID and for proof of registration of the 5 slaves. As I don't even have an ID so I tell him to wait a second while I put my hands in a bag that i took from the merchant's cart and conjure an ID and the paperwork I got when I took the stuff from the cart and put my name on them. I hand the ID and papers to the guard and he let us pass.

The towns name is Rakin and its a beautiful town. Now we look for an inn to settle everything.
