Chapter 29: The Demon King

The next morning I had awoken before everyone else, it was about 6 o'clock in the morning if I look at the sun and estimate. I decide to do some morning training without using divine power, the training entailed 10000 push-ups 10000 sit-ups and 100 miles of running. After every 15 minutes of straight running I would stop and walk for 5 minutes as to not over run myself, after the morning training was over I had worked up quite the sweat.

Not using divine power in that exercise was a smart move because during that run I could feel the need to take a break. I should start doing that more often, and because my body is divine I have to up the putout rate of the training, normal people would do about 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups, and adventurer would do about 400 of each I have to do 10x the normal persons workout.

Walking back to the castle I get a call from behind me, I turn to him.

[I am from the adventurers guild, I am a C rank adventurer, me and my companions are all C rank. We took a request to eliminate some low level demons 3 towns over from the capital and thought it would be an easy request. But we were wrong, when we got there we seen about 30 demons and started our extermination, it was going well until the commander came out, normally, the commander would be an average demon, someone that a party of C rank adventurers could handle but he was special, he was one of the 4 generals under direct command from the Demon King]: unknown

[so, you want my help with what exactly]: riku

[I want you to come help me and my friends let the villagers escape]: unknown

[escape? Why do you need me to help the villagers escape?]: riku

[because we will not be able to kill one of the 4 generals we can only help save some villagers please will you help us then you can run too]: unknown

So this guy most likely seen me doing my training and thought I was powerful. I wonder what he would think if I told him that I was an E rank adventurer?

Ok his story does not seem fishy, should I help him?... No now's not the time to think about if I should help or not, I want to see how strong this General is to compare to other monsters I have killed.

Kenji leads the way to the village that is being raided by the demons, it took about 4 hours to get there, when I arrive on the site with Kenji I take a quick mental surveillance of what happened. To summarize, 10 villagers are dead 34 are injured and all the rest are fleeting away. And fighting the demons are 3 C rank adventurers. Add Kenji and that makes 4, let's start the extermination.

[Kenji, tell your friends to move away from the horde of demons]: riku

[no, there's no need just get the villagers out then run for your life]: ken

As Kenji's friends listen to him and move behind him I make my move, I take Jintō how is stationed on my side like always into my grip.

[ok Jintō let's make quick work of these guys]: riku

As I unsheath Jintō a bright light emerges, and then in the next second all the demons who were left were dead, all decapitated. And before the body's could drop on the ground Jintō was sheathed and at my side again.

[done, anyone else want to try to attack this village]: riku

[it's simple, all I did was unsheath my sword and swing it then I put it back, can it get simpler than that?]: riku

Kenji and his friends are looking dumbstruck as I tell them what I had done. And then something calls my attention from behind me where the demons were at.

[so you decided to come out then, that must mean that you have a death wish]: riku

[since I got here, once I killed you underlings I asked you if you would like to come out and attack the village, didn't I?]:riku

After a second of silence when the demon was thinking of what to say next he then opens his mouth.

[ha, I guess you did. What is your name little boy?]: demon

[firstly I am no little boy, I am over 350 years old]: riku

[HA?!?!? 350 years huh? Then let me rephrase my question then, what is your name young man]:demon

[still so ignorant you may be older than me but I am on a completely different level than you are so learn your place. I will allow you to hear the name of your superior, my name is Riku Akiyama remember it well.]: riku

I may have exaggerated my name a bit but in this world there is nobody who surpasses me in the sword.

[well then let's go... Ken, go back to the capital and report to the guild that you have completed the quest and claim your reward, do not mention any of this part though. I will be fine just go home and enjoy your reward, forget about me because I will be back later, ok?]: riku

After we leave the town and head to the Demon King palace I tell the demon something.
