Y/N POV

The party was getting wild. Music was blaring throughout my house. Today, my brother, Jack, and I are turning 18. We invited all of my brother's friends and people from our school.

"Hey, I'm going to go get another drink. Do you want anything?" my boyfriend, Spencer Knight, asked.

"No, thank you," I said with a smile, kissing his cheek. He smiled and went off to get our drinks.

I don't drink, smoke, or party, so this was all Jack's idea. I'm just going with the flow. Jack is the most popular guy at our school since he's projected to be first overall in the upcoming NHL Draft. I, however, am the complete opposite of Jack. I'm introverted and shy.

I can spot Jack from the other side of the room. He was wasted, and he had a blunt in his hand. I didn't think Jack would ever have the courage to smoke.

I sat on my couch observing Jack when I felt the couch dip. I turned to see Spencer handing me water, even though I didn't ask for it. I laughed a bit, making him look at me with a confused expression.

"I didn't ask for anything," I said with a smile. "But the fact you still brought me something just shows how much I have you wrapped around my finger."

"That is correct."

He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into him. I rested my head on his shoulder, and his head rested on mine.

We stayed in this position until he took his head off of my mine and kissed my lips. I kissed back passionately. It started innocent, but it slowly became more intimate. Finally, after a couple of minutes, I pulled away, looking at him with a small smile before turning my attention to the teenagers in front of me.

"Hey, Y/N," he began, "I think I'm going to head home."

"You're going to drive home?" I asked since he was drinking.

"No, of course not. I'm going to walk home."

"Why don't I walk with you? You live 5 minutes away, and it will give me some time away from the stupid party."

"Yeah, we can do that," Spencer said, agreeing.

We both got dressed and began to walk down the stairs. We pushed through the sweaty teenagers dancing to rap music. We eventually made it out of the door, and we started walking.

We crossed the street, hand in hand. By the time we made it across, I had heard someone yell, "Hey, Y/N! Wait up! Where are you going?"

I turned my head to see Jack. He crossed the street, barely being able to walk on his own two feet. He hugged me, and I hugged back. He then pulled away, and I noticed how red his eyes were.

I pushed his hair out of his face but cringed when I felt wetness all over my hand. That's when I knew he was sweating.

"I'm going to go walk Spencer to his house," I explained to Jack.

"Oh! Can I come?" he asked, giggling, not understanding what he was saying.

"Why don't you stay and continue to have some fun? Just be careful, okay?" I said in response. He nodded his head in response.

"I love you, Jack. Happy Birthday."

"Love you too, Y/N. Happy Birthday to you too," he said, smiling. He then begins to stumble across the street.

Suddenly, a car makes a turn around the block we were on, going way too fast. The driver was going around 60 miles an hour in a residential area. Jack stops in the middle of the road, his eyes widening at the car coming straight for him.

It all happened in the blink of an eye.

"Jack, run!"

I tried to run up to him and save him, but the car was going too fast. Spencer wrapped his arm around my wrist, knowing it was too late.
