CHAPTER 5: STALL

It's Wednesday and it was Tin's rest day from his restaurant job. He went home straight from school, only to find Kengkla hanging out with Techno at their shared apartment.

"Oh, hi P'Tin!" Kengkla said, startled by Tin's sudden arrival, catching him cuddling and fondling with Techno at the couch.

"Hi, P'Tin!" Techno greeted him too, with a shy smile, and could not make eye contact.

Tin nodded to acknowledge. He went straight to the kitchen to get water from the fridge.

"By the way, P'Tin, Techno and I are officially dating," Kengkla said, as he pulled Techno closer to him.

"You didn't even play hard to get?" Tin replied. "You should have at least given Techno a little challenge before you said yes!"

"We've been talking for months now and I think we already knew each other too well. I guess we just really needed to meet to make up our minds if we do like each other." Kengkla explained. "Right babe?" He asked Techno.

"Yes, babe," Techno replied.

"Babe..." Tin scoffed. "You could have at least come up with something original..."

"Like what?" Kengkla asked.

Tin suddenly thought of how Can calls him washer and not one bit he feels degraded or embarrassed by it. For some weird reason, Tin finds it cute and sweet. Can is the only one who calls him that.

"I don't know..." Tin replied. "Like Klakiee and Techiee or something..."

"Where did that come from?" Kengkla asked. "I kinda like it."

"Yeah, that's cute," Techno said.

"Don't use it! That's my idea, it's not your original idea!" Tin said.

"So you don't have work today at the restaurant, right?" Kengkla said. Tin nodded.

"Oh, you work at a restaurant?" Techno asked.

"Yeah, he just started last week," Kengkla said. "Which restaurant do you work again?"

"It's not that important," Tin replied. "I'm just a part-time dishwasher anyway, not a significant position. I couldn't give you a discount even if you go there."

"My brother owns a restaurant," Techno said. "If you want, I can recommend you to him."

"Thanks for the offer, but I think I am good with the restaurant I am in right now."

Tin replied. "But I'll let you know if I ever change my mind."

"He doesn't wanna go because he has a crush there." Kengkla teased.

"Shut up, Kengkla!" Tin said.

"You still haven't told me about him! I thought we are brothers!" Kengkla said. "I am open about my relationship with Techno. How come I don't know anything about your love life?"
