(Y/N) stared out the window of her English classroom. Her eyes trailed after a bluebird, watching as it perched on a branch, shaking it's wings and tucking them. It puffed out it's feathery chest, opened its beak, and-

Riiiing!

(Y/N) jerked back in her seat as the bell rang, the bird nearly falling off it's branch outside. She stared at it, hoping it didn't break anything, and watched as it shook itself. It seemed almost indignant as it stretched its wings, giving them one last shake, before flying up into the blue sky.

I wish I could fly away from my problems, The girl thought with a sigh, before putting her stuff away and slinging her bag over her shoulder. She turned around to find that the rest of the class was empty, chairs pushed haphazardly around the room and the sound of footsteps filling the hallway.

(Y/N) carefully maneuvered her way out of the classroom, tugging her hood over her head as she joined the ocean of students to the main gate of the school- their ticket out of there. (Y/N) nearly fell over from the pace of the students-their excitement showing in their pace.

(Y/N) herself couldn't wait to leave, wanting to leave the place they call school.

She hated the stares she got. Hated the way people went out of their way to avoid her.

(Y/N) zoned back, noticing how she had finally made it out of the school. She walked off in a different direction as everyone else, deciding she had enough time before going back home.

_

(Y/N) strolled under the shade of the trees that were in the park, enjoying how the coolness felt on her skin. She hummed a tune, her brown orbs watching how the trees swayed in the wind and how the birds flew through the air. A not-so-usual smile flashed across her face-gone so fast it was almost as if it were never there. (Y/N) felt the most calm then she had in days.

That was, until she heard the laughter.

(Y/N) froze in her tracks, preparing to turn around as quick as possible, but it was too late.

They had already spotted her.

The group of teenagers stopped talking at once, their eyes frozen on (Y/N)'s figure. They were definitely from her school. They had that same, terrified look on their face that anyone had when they saw her face.

The group broke the staring contest as they started to inch away, murmurs coming from them. They passed (Y/N), walking silently until they took a turn, leaving the girl all alone.

(Y/N) sighed, her earlier mood giving way to a more darker feeling.

Sadness.

She collapsed against a tree, bringing her knees into herself. She concentrated on her breathing, trying to refuse the memory from coming, but it was too late.

_

A younger (Y/N) skipped along the gate of her elementary school, a smile present on her face. Her backpack swayed from side to side as she continued her skipping, oblivious to the older, much stronger high schoolers following her.

The young girl continued skipping, nearly making it to her house, when she felt a shove. (Y/N) fell over, scraping her palm and knees. Boisterous laughing could be heard from behind her as she slowly got up, her eyes fixed on her bleeding hands.

"Whatcha gonna to do now, nerd?"

(Y/N) turned around, trying to keep in her tears as she faced the taller group of high schoolers pointing at her.

"W-why are you being so m-mean?" She whispered.

The group laughed again, and one of them leaned in front of her, plastering on a look of mock pity.

"Aww, you gonna cry to your mommy? Oh, wait," The teenager leaned back, a smirk placed on their face. "You don't have one."

(Y/N) looked down as everyone burst out laughing, snickers and taunts being aimed at her. She squeezed her eyes shut as they grew moist, but it didn't stop a single tear from escaping. A sob escaped her throat against her will, and she swiped her hand against her nose.

The laughter filled her head, hitting her like an ocean current would. She grew dizzy, and the world around her quieted, until only the laughter was there.

It hurt.

It really did.

And that's when (Y/N) decided that she had had enough. Something seemed to click deep within her gut and her fingers tingled- almost as if holding untold power.

(Y/N) took a deep breath, stopping her tears, and mustered up her most terrifying glare.

Which really wasn't that terrifying.

"You want us to stop, hmm? And what are ya going to do about it?" One of the teenagers said, and that's when (Y/N) snapped.

Bright yellow coils of energy danced around her fingertips, lighting up her features. The energy writhed and danced, begging to be let out of their cage.

(Y/N) had never felt so much power before. It was as if something deep within her had finally been released, and it felt so good.

(Y/N) turned her attention back to the teenagers in front of her, who were now looking down at her in horror.

"Get. Away. From. Me."

The teenagers yelped, then scrambled away, running as fast as they could. The second they were out of sight, (Y/N) doubled over, the energy disappearing in a flash.

Almost as if it had never been there in the first place.

A/N :  What do you think will happen next? Honestly, I wonder how this would look like to other people. Like, your just walking in a park, and then you see this tween sitting on the ground and staring at a tree.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! I might not post in a certain pattern, and there will probably be a break or two, but that won't mean that I ended the book, unless I say otherwise. If I do go through one of those breaks, the best way to make me write again is basically to comment. It can be anything, even something completely random, and it'll motivate me. So, yeah.
