My luggage was in one hand as I carried my ticket in the other.

I was ready to aboard the shining black and red train, puffing fresh grey steam into the air as it stood before me in all its glory. I stared in awe and entered the train putting away my luggage and finding an empty compartment to sit in.

I found an empty compartment and quickly took a seat, resting my feet on the other set of seats that were currently empty. I began looking out the window as the train began to move, beginning to feel my nerves kicking in.

I was enjoying the peace until I was startled by the compartment door being knocked.

The door slid open to reveal a girl with curly brown hair following a red-haired boy and a raven-haired boy with glasses, close behind her.

"Hello, Is it alright if we take a seat in here? everywhere else is full." The girl politely asked.

I smiled and nod my, indicating It was fine to do so.

The boys sat opposite me whilst the girl sat beside me. The trio began a conversation that didn't involve me, so I returned my attention to the window, fascinated by the beautiful landscape it displayed.

My attention was brought back to the trio once I heard the redhead speak.

"You know something. I don't think I've ever seen her around Hogwarts before." The red head spoke his thought making the girl sat next to me kick him in the shin. The boy yelps in pain and held his leg, rubbing it and glaring at her.

"Bloody hell, What was that for?" He hissed.

"Well Ronald, that's for your lack of manners. You could have just asked her name?" She whispered shouted at him. The boy I now know as Ronald, cleared his throat.

"Ah yeah, sorry about that. I'm Ron, Ron Weasley." He finished. Hearing his name made me mentally slap myself.

How could I have missed it?

"I thought I recognised you! Your father works for the ministry. Arthur Weasley?" I asked him casually.

"Em yeah, that's right." He replied shyly as I smiled in return.

"I'm Y/n, y/n Lovegood."

"Hermione Granger." Hermione greeted extending her hand for me to shake, which I gladly excepted. I then looked over towards the raven-haired boy who awkwardly stared back then spoke.

"Harry Potter." He smiled.

"Its lovely to meet yous all," I replied however noticed Ron looking at me strangely.

"Did I hear you correctly? did you say your name was Lovegood?" Ron questioned making my eyes widen in realisation. Did I say Lovegood? Shit.

"Yes," I replied looking down into my lap. I was nervous to hear what they had to say next. The room filled with silence until Hermione spoke.

"Of course! That makes total sense!" She exclaimed, making me, Ron and Harry look at her weirdly.

"Don't you see? She's the missing Lovegood." Hermione explained as if it was the most obvious thing.

"Missing Lovegood?" I question.

"Years ago, there were rumours that a girl from the Lovegood family ran away after her mother's death. They sent out a search party to find her, but she never returned. You didn't know?" Hermione asked raising her brows.

"No. I've just found I'm a Lovegood yesterday," I replied looking ashamed. Hermione could see I was upset.

"I received my Hogwarts letter 5 years ago so really I should have started way back at the beginning of the year, but my non-biological dad was, and still is suffering from a severe illness that stopped me from going. I decided to become a young carer for him. I have been looking after him up to this point. When I found out about my real family history, I spoke to him about it. We both knew it was time i attended Hogwarts this year." I explained to the three.

Hermione put a reassuring hand on top of my knee with a smile on her face. A single tear threatened to fall down my cheek, but I hid it well.

I could see the boys were showing sympathy towards me, but I didn't want them to.

"Luna will be thrilled to see you," Harry said. I looked at him.

"I have a sister?" I asked more to myself as I heard Harry respond.

"Sorry, your accent, are you from Scotland?" He asked, slightly out of context.

"Yes, why'd you ask?" I laugh making him smile shyly, looking away.

"Lucky guess. I know someone from our school. She's also Scottish." He explained, a visible pink tint on his cheeks.

"You're not talking about Cho Chang are you. You have been drooling over her since last year for god sake." Hermione blurted out causing his cheeks to turn even darker than before.

"Was that necessary? You could have said 'crush' or something..." He mumbled. Hermione shrugged.

I decided to change the subject.

"Sorry, you mentioned someone called Luna? What house is she in?" I asked eagerly awaiting their answer.

"Ravenclaw. All the smartest witches and wizards end up in that house. Sometimes I wonder how Hermione didn't end up in that house." Ron joked which resulted another kick to the shin.

"Sometimes I wonder the same thing about you, considering the way you always eat-" Hermione started, but was interrupted by the train coming to a halt. We all jumped up from our seats and collected our belongings to follow Harry who was exiting the train.

"I think you have to follow Hagrid towards the boats with the first years considering you haven't been sorted yet," Harry said.

"Well actually, McGonagall stated in the letter that I take the carriages and meet up with her when I arrive at Hogwarts. The only thing is I don't know where anything is yet." I replied looking around the platform to take in all the new surrounding's.

"That's because you have to walk to them," Hermione said.

"follow us."
