I finally managed to find the spot professor McGonagall told me to meet her. She was going to escort me to Professor Dumbledore's office, where I will be sorted into my house.
I walked up the stoned steps leading to a massive wooden door and reached over to open it until seeing an old lady coming into view with a long emerald green gown and pointed hat. Her glasses sat at the rim of her nose and she had greyish hair that stuck out at certain places. From stress no doubt.
"You must be Y/n. Professor Dumbledore's office is this way. Follow me." she instructed using a firm voice as I followed close behind.
We eventually came to a stop, in front was a golden statue of sort that formed into a staircase leading to what only could be Dumbledore's office.
Once we were both up the stairs, I was told to take a seat in front of Dumbledores desk to wait on his arrival as he was running a little behind schedule.
Professor McGonagall dismissed herself from the room, leaving me by myself in his office. This gave me time to study my surroundings.
Every single detail in his office was truly magnificent to take in.
The room was filled with wonders and a selection of varieties of different books, a potion cabinet and some strange magical objects.
I scanned the desk in front of me and noticed an odd-looking bird standing on a wooden poll looking around. The bird was red and old. It seemed to be minding its business.
After what felt like hours but was only minutes, a man came into the room looking rather ancient. His beard was long and grey, his gown was silver and his skin was wrinkled which instantly told me he's worked here for decades.
He slowly walked over to his desk and spoke in a quiet, calming voice.
"Fascinating isn't it. Called a Phoenix." He said looking behind me.
I followed his gaze and realized he was talking about the bird. I smiled."Anyway, Y/n I do apologise for keeping you waiting like that. You must know already how hard it is to be in charge of a school." He laughed.
"I must Welcome you to my school of witchcraft and wizardry. As you know I'm The headmaster of Hogwarts and shall do my best to help you become the greatest witch you can be," He smiled raising a single finger and taking a seat down on his chair across from me.
I remained silent for the time being until realising that he was waiting for me to reply, I awkwardly cleared my throat and sat up more in my seat.
"H-Happy to finally be here sir, can't wait to get started. May I add, your office is amazing!" I realised my stutter and mentally slapped myself.
"You have yet to be amazed, Y/n." That was all he replied before giving me a warm smile.
My smile suddenly turned into a frown as I was dreading to ask the Professor about my real identity, assuming he knew the answer.
"Professor?" I began.
"In the last couple of days, I've seemed to have learned a lot about myself and my true identity. It still confuses me as to why I've only just gotten to know all of this." I admit, eyeing the professor.
Dumbledore took a moment to think.
"I know that this must all be new to you Y/n and I shall do my best to explain to you why this is all suddenly necessary. I had asked for you to be sorted in my office for a reason." He smiled.
He takes a minute to think before continuing.
"You see, Y/n, your life hasn't all been that truthful to you. Your mother, a lovely woman, was working on a new charm of hers and attempted to perform it. Unfortunately, it failed on her which resulted in her own death." He said looking down sadly at his desk.
