We finally went to bed around 3am, but I couldn't sleep, I just laid there occasionally glancing over at Colby. He was sleeping soundly, I watched as his bare chest slowly rose and sank. My mind raced, thinking of all the things we had been through in such a short time. My eyes watered as I thought about how much easier his life would be without me in it. I tried to push these thoughts away since they weren't healthy, but tears slid down my face. He didn't need someone like me bringing him down, he was so much better off without me in his life.

No remember what Kat said. He wasn't doing well until he met you. He even told you himself that you make him better.

I argued with myself as Colby stirred in his sleep. His brow furrowed, almost as if he was having a nightmare. I sat up watching him as I pulled my knees to my chest. His breathing picked up a bit and he stirred a little more, almost whimpering. I took a deep breath, sucking my tears in as I shook him awake, "babe." I said softly as his eyes shot open, "Are you okay?" He said catching his breath, "I'm fine, are you okay...it looked like you were having a nightmare." He bobbed his head slowly, "Yeah I was..but why weren't you asleep?" He said groggily as I shrugged, "I don't know." He put one arm around me and rubbed my shoulder, "relax, everything is alright." He spoke so calmly as we repositioned ourselves so we were both laying once again.

I listened as he fell back asleep, his arm resting around my waist. I tried to fall asleep, but every time I closed my eyes I saw Jason coming at me with his hand going for my neck. I shook my head. You have to get over it. It's over. He's going to prison hopefully. Just relax. Colby will protect you if anyone tries to hurt you again. I let myself relax a bit more at the thought, then closed my eyes and finally drifted to sleep. Luckily I didn't have any nightmares.

When I woke up Colby was gone, "Colby?" I called out, hoping he would appear from the hallway. It was weird for him to leave me without a note or a text or anything. I checked my phone to no new messages. I shrugged getting out of bed, and walking out to the living room, still searching to see if he was here. I sighed and sat on the couch when I realized he wasn't here. See. You drove him away, just like you drive everyone away. I frowned at the thought, but before I could get too into thought my front door opened and Colby came in, he held a bag in his hand. "Oh hey you're awake" he said and came over to kiss my head, "yeah I'm awake, where were you?" I said as I stood up gesturing to the bag in his hand. "I went to make you some tea for when you woke up, but you were out so I went to the store...I didn't know what kind you wanted so...I kinda got them all" I couldn't help but laugh at how cute he was as he tumbled all the teas in the bag onto the table. "Thank you babe!" I said and wrapped my arms around his waist, pressing my head against his chest.

I turned and looked at all the tea he had brought for me. I decided to go with a raspberry herbal and put the pot on the stove, "any nightmares last night?" Colby said as I danced around the kitchen a bit, "nope" I said and popped the p as I grabbed his hand forcing him to twirl me, he laughed. "You're in a good mood today" I smiled, "yeah I guess so" he twirled me again and pulled me close to him, swaying me back a forth as he looked into my eyes. "I like seeing you in a good mood." He stated and I smiled, "I like being in a good mood." I stood on my tip toes and kissed him quick then turned to the screaming tea pot.

"So how would you feel about going somewhere haunted.." Colby said shoving his hands in his pockets. I tilted my head quizzically as I poured the hot water from the teapot into a mug, "like where?" He chuckled, "well Sam, Jake, Corey, and I are filming a video at the Witch's Forrest for a video and I wanted to see if you would come." I smirk at his almost nervous tone, "I would love to come but what is it?" We moved from the kitchen to the couch in the living room as he explained,

"Well it'a this forest that this girl told us to go to and it's supposedly really haunted. The boys wanted to go for a video, but if you're coming I want to warn you we are either staying in the woods or in a creepy ass cabin.." I smirked, "I want to come Colby, I'm not afraid." My confidence was perhaps a bit too high, because on the inside I was horrified. "When are we doing this?" He laughed, "tonight." My eyes widened, "and you're just telling me this now!" I laughed and leaned my body onto his so he could wrap his arm around me. "I'm sorry it's so last minute, we aren't the best planners in the world." He hummed next to me. "It's okay, I'm really excited." I paused, "I have to get ready." I decided and stood up, taking my tea into the bedroom and setting it on the table.

I felt a pair of arms wrap around me as I looked through my closet. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Colby whispered as he kissed the side of my head, "I'm sure. It will get my mind off of everything, and plus you'll be there to protect me." He smiled as he spun me around, moving my hair behind my ear, "no person or demon will touch you." He said and pulled me into a kiss.
